This is very similar to my pedal car, which has a fj40 headlight surround, cowl heater and fresh air vent, under windshield, same chain drive. I think that this toy is no older than 1967. I does not have any metric bolts, and the chain was made in USA. I still would like to know more history on this pedal car. Original paint was metallic blue, same as my 1967 chevelle malibu had. Still stumped, John Pardi

Looks like a late 70's, early 80's model to me (square-ish front end)...interesting that it came from Japan in the 50's.

Nice toy.
