The landcruiser engine Bay is identical to the LX570, however as you can see below the cover panels are missing from the LC:

It really cleans up the look and could perhaps reduce engine noise. I went to Lexus parts department and had a mechanic look at my LC engine bay, he was like, "it could fit if the cowling part number does match", "all clips seem to be in the right place".

So i asked the desk representative to look up the part numbers for the cowling, but they were different (so he says). Actually he wasn't too sure at all as there were many different versions for the LC, and the engine code was not listed, so again no concrete answer.

My question is, does anyone have any knowledge or access to parts catalog, or can do some primary research on this subject? was this done before?

I highlighted in red the portion that would indicate whether its a direct fit or not (as per the mechanics quick consultation).

If it makes a difference, the covers are composed of three individual peices, and some 17 clips i believe.

Thanks!

So more work/time when you want to access the engine bay? It might reduce the noise a small amount until the plastic piece eventually starts to rattle.

my $.02...

give me 24-48 hrs and I can check for you - right now i have 4 LX570 and 1 LX570 RHD in production - will have a Middle East Spec and US Spec TLC200 5.7 coming in tomorrow.

xkennx, yes please that will be extremely helpful (make sure to check the cowling part). Meanwhile I will be patiently waiting for your kind update.

Str8Rocks, the pieces are attached by clips not welds...at max you'll waste 5 min removing them.

Anyone else interested in moding their engine bay this way after xkennx gets back to us?

haha - only if you asked me a couple months ago - i use to throw all that plastic stuff away usually 5-6 complete sets a month.

Gets in the way of the battery and radiator protect i use to use. I just redesigned the battery protection to allow me to keep the plastic now so i won't be throwing it out anymore.

I guess you are right, I'm a minimalist and don't care if my engine bay looks pretty covered by plastic. When there is a problem I want instant access.

Not only instant access, but the ease of seeing any potential problems. You can see any leaks, cracks, or loose fittings with all that plastic. I always laugh when I see that amount of engine bay cladding. What's the point of the hood?

I agree on the quick access part, but i prefer looking at skin over guts. I just hate clutter so nobody is wrong here just personal pref...

Xkennx - i cant believe you disposed them! if you happen to find an unwanted set ill buy please :d btw are you working for some armoring company? (sorry im new here)

I'd be interested. Please advise.

Kennx any news?

sorry was so busy forgot to get back to the message board.

It will fit on the TLC200 with the 5.7 Actaully it will fit on just about any of the engines.

but be advised its not just the 3 large top panels you will need to buy. There are 3 smaller ones along the rain gutter you will need and a bunch of the small black plastic push buttons.

I have asked for a price list from my suppliers and they are going to have to get back with me.

Thank you! So its a direct fit with any land cruiser gasoline engine? Is it possible to list the part numbers for all required peices to pull this off? Yesterday i went to lexus again and the rain gutter for the LX570 is twice as much as the one for the LC, that made me think its an impossible fit since the peices will need to clip to the Rain gutter (where the lc one is diff), am i correct?

Dont you think this will be an issue and will need custom mod.?

Double thanks for the pics!

Looks like you might be upwards of $700ish. Don't forget a Lexus part is usually more $ then a Toyota :)
