Hey guys. Check engine light came on for my wife. Gas cap was clearly very loose.

Does this code go away or do I need to clear it?

Edit: no code, just CE light and “See Dealer” message

Iirc, it’ll go away within some set interval of engine cycles or evap system cycles. Give it a few days after remedying the problem. Then consider clearing.

I think it will go away, but it’s a great excuse to buy an inexpensive code reader and clear it. You can get a cheap Ancel on Amazon for less than $30.
