I can't be the first person to dream/fantasize about having a 5.7 in my 100. I searched the forum but didn't find anything. Anyone with more experience/knowledge than me (aka everyone) have an idea how hard or impossible this might be? I've got nearly 260k on the LC and would love to put the larger more powerful engine in if/when this one dies.

With 260k miles on there this will be a pretty pressing matter, you might only have another few hundred thousand miles to go before that 4.7 fails.

On a serious note though, wouldn't rebuilding the 4.7 and using forced induction be the far simpler option?

I've Definately thought it too!!!

Forced induction and headers is probably the way to go. :(

wouldn't fit easily was Slee's feedback when i asked..... better to buy a 08' or Sc'er.....

not that I wouldn't love to see if done... !!!

and IF you do it you can always do the TRD 5.7 charger if you want 500+ hp......

Just keep in mind that whenever one adds gobs of horsepower, one WILL be stressing other components farther down the drive train:bang:, e.g. axles, drive shafts, transmission, etc. Just something to keep in mind.:hmm:
Personally I love the idea, but I'd either have to always have a light foot, or beef up the rest of the drive train.
