4x4 labs unknown wire help

Hello everyone! I bought a 1997 a few months back. I have not been able to figure out what this is attached to the 4x4 labs rear swing gate!

The wire on the passenger side connected to the right side. I’ve followed it underneath the vehicle, but it disappears and doesn’t reappear again. Included a top down photo too. Any help is appreciated!

Looks like a CB radio antenna wire to me. The other end is probably in the cab somewhere where there once was a CB radio.
