Howdy,

I went in on the latest 4x4 Labs group buy and decided to replace my ARB Deluxe front winch bumper with Luke's new front bumper. I love the ARB, but couldn't turn down the group buy discount or the minimalistic design. Plus, my 80 just has a way of getting into my wallet.

I painted the bumper myself, as I'm just not a fan of powder coat. The process was pretty basic:

1. Degrease bumper
2. Scuff with scotch brite pad
3. Degrease bumper
4. Spray with self etch primer
5. Spray with semi-gloss Dupli Color professional enamel paint. I did 3 coats, and scuffed the paint in between.

I have yet to trim the rad support and relocate the a/c dryer in order to take full advantage of the design's clearance. And I still need to wire my winch.

I also got a set of 315/75/16 Goodyear MT/Rs and installed them after I got my bumper on today. Anyway, enough babbling, here are some pics.

What was the group buy price if you don't mind me asking?

Wow Matt, that looks awesome! Your rig's looking great!

Very nice rig there. Hey would that bumper accommodate a winch with an integrated solenoid box?

I really need to get off my butt and build mine.

Looks great!

Thanks!

It was 15% off Luke's asking prices. I owe a big thanks to @FZJ80 in KC for his help with shipping.

Thank you!

I can't answer that, unfortunately. You'd have to contact 4x4 Labs.

Thanks! Definitely. I envy those who can weld. I'll learn one day. I was happy to get all of this done while on paternity leave with my newborn twins. With some well-timed naps, work over night and some help, it got done in a week.

I may have missed it in earlier threads, but nice to know you can install without moving the a/c right away.

Nice bumper look, how much do you like your tires, they seem noisy!

Correct. The dryer needs nothing; it's just left out in the open.

Thanks, eurorom! I've only logged 5 miles thus far, and can't comment much. They replaced 295/75/16 BFG KOs, which were definitely quieter (and should be, as they're an all terrain).

They aren't bad at all IMHO for a M/T. I have maybe 3k on mine in the same size as Stylo07's (315's)

baldilocks, here are some extra pics, since I'm pic-happy. My Engo E10000 was a very tight fit. I'll have to mount the solenoid box longitudinally.

Makes 35's look big!

Are the sliders 4x4 labs also?
Thanks, man. Luke knows what he's doing. If he made sliders, I'd probably crack open my wallet on reflex (I have his rear bumper, too).

Those sliders were built by the previous owner and another mud member. They're patterned after the Slee 1st gen and are beefy. I had them Line-X'd for grip (3 kids, 1 wife) and protection.

Dude, that thing looks great. How am I going to park next to you at work now?

Luke makes sliders. I have the front, rear and sliders... Just saying.

I am in the market for new tires and can not decide, I am looking at the Toyo's MT and these Goodyear tires on 315 or step down to 285 on cooper st maxxx tires!
Anyway I love the look of your bumper and it gives it a different look, you may say you just got a face lift on your Cruiser!
