Hi guys, this icon comes up every few weeks or so, flashes but goes away after restarting. 50k miles since it started happening but zero issues with anything. Thoughts?

Check your battery, if it's 4lo/hi , diff lock is showing up on first start more than likely battery is week.

Could be a variety of things unrelated to the center differential. Get a code reader and see what it says.

its gone now, dissapears for months at a time. Next time it comes up i will

May still be worth checking the codes as it may still show up as Intermittent in the computer.

Where did you get this intel? (It makes perfect sense for all my situation)

all of my flashes are first starts of the morning
- typically colder mornings. I was trying to correlate the cold morning to moisture getting into the TC electronics; however, low battery voltage on a cold morning makes sense as well.
For me, driving 5-10 minutes and then restating stopped the flash, so maybe that was just enough charge to put on the battery.
I’ve been keeping a log of flashes, but now I’ll use OBD Fusion to get the voltage the next time it happens.
Thanks!

This used to happen to me when first starting up in the morning when I would park outside during winter time and the temperature was fairly cold, around 30 degrees. IIRC somewhere in the manual it states these differential lock flashes are "normal," goes away after the car is driven and warmed up.

The center diffirential icon stopped flashing in the morning after I stopped leaving the vehicle outside overnight and left the vehicle parked inside the garage.

Step 1 loosen and clean your battery terminals and battery posts with sand paper or even Brillo pads work.
