Soooo International 4x4 day April 4 2021 is on a Sunday this year and is a month away. Again I wanna celebrate with some low range time.
Interested?
Gordys?
4x4 area by Gallup?
Farmington?
Jemez @Tank5 is there a legit place requiring low range in the Jemez?
Rio Puerco? Not as thrilled about Rio Puerco but it’s always an option

I have not been on any legitimate low range trails in the Jemez. Sorry I don’t know of any. There is still a decent amount of snow in places on the northern slopes. Most of the USFS roads are still closed up here right now, so scouting something new is not an option at the moment. Some roads should open up by April.

I have never been there but maybe the trails near Socorro are open?

Thanks, true on snow and closures. I’m a little Magdalena’d out but Gordys is a definite possibility and high on my list. As is Farmington but that’s a tougher day trip this time of year.

I realize I may have been imprecise... by “legit” I mean not a cowboy trail, a legit trail that is open on MVUM

Farmington is a tough day trip any time of year considering it's 3 1/2 hours one way from Albuquerque to the NW side of Farmington. I used to live pretty close to Chokecherry and traveled to ABQ often to visit family so I had it down to about 5 minutes of accuracy.

I'm still planning on making this happen one way or another. Hoping the weather holds.
Currently looking like Gordy's if my buddy gets his crawler operational
If not then prolly puerco.

Amongst much confusion over other events and dates I didn’t see that 4.4.2021 is Easter
Rescheduling fir 4.3.2021 and pretend it’s 4.4 day

My samurai buddy is out.
I don’t know Gordys well but can manage. @krazykat69 are you interested? You know Gordys a lot better than I.
The other option is puerco
The other other option is the mine road 505A sort of up Jordan canyon in Magdalena... very brushy and unknown if it’s completely passable.
Give me your feedback

I would be down to check out Gordy's again. I've been there once with Jeff and the NM 4 wheeler folks.

Have a fun, safe trip! I plan on pulling my front diff tomorrow afternoon and get it cleaned up and ready to drop the ARB in Saturday morning.

Gordy's it is. Please chime in if you intend to go. One locker and at least 33's, and not overly concerned about brush
@lurch you could prolly pic your way through a lot of this
Meet at the truck stop in Lemitar 9AM Saturday morning. I'll be towing the crawler in the brown dodge and may have a jeep guy tag along

Gordy's seems a bit far for me for a day trip. Have fun!
