I am not sure if this is for the 70 tech or the diesel/24volt tech section but here it goes.(tried searching but found nothing).

I was about -25 celsius this morning and I had plugged in my BJ74 overnight. It fired up no problem at all and after letting it warm up I was off on my morning commute. When I got onto the highway there was a couple of inches of snow and ice so with my hubs locked I pressed the 4hi button and nothing happened. The light did not go on the front end didn't engage. I tried this several times along the way on my drive(at various speeds) and no luck.

I then went out to a meeting about 3 hours later and the temp outside had risen slightly and sure enough I started out and tried the 4hi button again and presto it kicked right in. Could something be frozen or am I way of base.

Any suggestions of what to do or what caused this or if this has happen to anyone else?

Thanks,
Haggs

probably either moisture in the t/case and it forze or moisture in the vacumm lines and it froze. probably needs to experience a warm garage for a bit to get workign again...

I experienced this today I think The 4H button engaged the front wheels but when I went to turn it off again, nothing. The 4x4 light stayed on and the front wheels stayed engaged. I had to press the button a few times, almost holding it down for a second and it finally disengaged.
