I've been driving my 4Runner (Limited) for almost three years. Two weeks ago, I started driving my LC for two weeks. Yesterday, I drove the 4Runner again. Man, it feels like crap now. Specifically, the steering feels loose and the truck feels really light. Back to the LC I guess.

The 4Runner is legendary in its own right. However, after driving the LC, the 4Runner leaves a lot to be desired for sure.

When down the same path. Sold the 100 LC for a newer 4runner. Year later sold it and got the 200 LC

Did the same thing. 4runner was a good vehicle but nowhere near the 100/200.

Same. I have loved my 2012 Limited 4Runner since I picked it up new. Since getting my LC, the 4R just isn't the same. Luckily my wife gets to drive the 4Runner :).

After driving the LC daily, after renting a Jetta on a recent business trip, I realize how poor the fit and feel is on many new cars. The 4Runner is still far and away better than many other cars on the road. Shows how well built the 200 LC is...

My wife loves her 4Runner, she does steal the 200 whenever she can.

I put ~140k miles on my '03 V8 4Runner. I test drove the 2015/2016 4Runner Limited 3 times, but I just didn't like the powertrain. So I got a CPO 2013 Landcruiser. I would be really bummed if I had to replace the LC with a 5th gen 4Runner.

I sold a 03 V8 4Runner with about 170k to get my LC. I loved the 4.7 V8, but my wife's 2012 4R limited rides better, steers/tracks better, has more comfortable seats, more room and has close to the same power (it gets up to freeway speed just as easy if not easier than the 4.7), just less low end/torque. I loved my 4th Gen, but I feel like the 5th Gen is good too. The 200 is just in a whole different category. I considered a new 4R for myself, but didn't want two identical vehicles. Glad I found a good 200.

Yes, the 5th gen is probably just as fast as the 4th gen V8. The difference is that you have to push the V6 to high revs to get any poke, and at high revs that V6 is unpleasant to my ears. I really like low-end torque, right off the line. It allows me to accelerate quickly and quietly, without upsetting the Mrs.

Haha, I agree the 4.7 is a sweet, quiet engine. My wife is the one that accelerates quickly. She is upset that her 4R isn't faster. TBH, I'm glad it only has a V6 or I would have probably paid for a lot more speedy tickets.

Had my Gen. 3 4Runner for 20 years. It was a hard good by but I got over it fast. My 2013 LC is sooooo sweet!

i came from a '14 Tacoma, thinking i was going to buy a new trail premium 4runner. It just felt so heavy for powertrain and $ for what you get...i found a CPO 200 LX and am so glad this is the route i went. Love my 200! My brother has 230K plus on his 4th gen 4runner though, can't knock that.

My wife is the one that accelerates quickly.

The last time we test drove a Mercedes C-class for my wife, she drove it first, accelerating gently as she always does. Then we swapped seats and I drove it. As soon as got out of the parking lot, I floored it. The salesman (a very longtime friend of ours and former SCCA champion) said "do I detect a slight difference in driving styles"?

I really wanted to like the TRD pro enough to swap out my GF's FJ for one...... but while it's roomy and capabable it's just so underpowered with no avail options to gain more..... so we're going to run her FJ and finish the build on the 200.....I loved my 04' V8 runner..... wish I'd kept that one.

The TRD Pro 4runners look good on paper, but most of the reviews I've read say everything that's been said above - not enough power, especially at the low end and most noticeably once you start building. A 4runner with a V8 or SC option would be pretty cool, but it will never be in the same class as the LC...and it shouldn't be considering the LC costs double!

When I finally decided to sell my fully built 100, I briefly considered a TRD Pro 4R... But once I shopped a bit for used 200's, I realized I could get a near-mint used 200 for LESS than a new TRD Pro. I feel 100% certain that if I had bought the TRD pro...I'd have suffered serious buyer's remorse, and would have ended up scheming on how to get back into what belongs in my driveway.

My wife calls my 200 my girlfriend... -Told her to maybe just be glad my girlfriend has four tires instead of four limbs... She agreed. :hillbilly:

I bought my 100 AFTER I bought a 2016 TRD Pro. After driving the 100 a few days the 4Runner felt like i was driving a tin can down the HWY. I never could seem to enjoy the 4Runner again. I sold the 4Runner so I could start the search for a 200. It's crazy that the 16 years older 100 felt so much more solid then the new 4Runner(my 80 does too). I'm sold on TLCs forever now!

I was looking for a 100 so I sold my 80 series to my son for his first rig. Dealers kept pushing the 4R TRD Pro but the math didnt add up for the hp loss at this alt (5000 ft). Wife came up with the idea of looking at an even newer Land Cruiser.;) So I went from an 80 to a 200.:D

I feel the same way every time I drive my wife's 2011 RX350. I tell her it feels like it's running on wooden wheels compared to my LX. We are spoilt, very spoilt.
