i have decided to sas the 4runner this fall the only problem i have is trying to find a solid front axle for the swap. do any of you have one for sale or know any junk yards that may have one?
im located in boston so the closer the better
thanks,

Not that I'm trying to dissuade you but remember in ma a sas is to tall to get a inspection sticker even with rollers on it. I had one for several years and every year it was a pain I even put stock 85 springs on it once. But it was the best thing I ever did to my old 4runner.

Throw a set of 225's on at inspection time, and avoid dealerships and higher end shops like the plague.

I don't know...I have a friend who has this turd Ford with about 12" lift on it and he never seems to have trouble getting it stickered...

thanks for the link

about inspection thats not a problem on my friends sas toy we just put tiny shackles and small tires on for inspection time, pluss the inspection guy loves my truck so thats a plus:D

i do onely plan to do a 3" lift up front and a 4" in the rear for all the extra weight i carry around

I have an 83? axle you can have, but you gotta take the frame (foam filled, not too bad shape) it's under. It also has 4" springs, rearend, 5 speed, and old 35" swampers. Package deal. Come and get it. Located in Haddam Neck, CT. Bring a trailer.

This weekend I went up to NH to buy a solid front axle for the swap and came home with 4 front axles for $150 wow what a great buy! I also got a rear axle out of an 85 pickup who ever want it is welcome to it!
Turns out the guy I bought the axles from is a good friend of Kinas, small world haa

I also ordered the lift from trail gear

The only thing I need now is a drive shaft out of an 85 or earler pickup or 4runner if anyone has one for sale I would be more than welcome to take it off your hands

Yodafrick, thanks for the offer but I don’t have a trailer to take that of your hands:frown:

Hey man who did you end up going to for the axels? Thats a smokin deal!

A sas can be done (height wise) thats legal in MA I have done it. Is it pretty? NO  The welding of front end parts is the sticky part if they want to get down to brass tacks....

a guy named jon in sandwich NH he just needed to get them out of the way i guess

i have the 3 inch lift so i dont think it will be a problem with the cops as long as i am driveing responsable

friend mike who has a 86 pickup has the 4inch lift and a 3inch bodys lift has not been pulled over yet so i should be ok

im not going to put on the lift till after fall gathering, figured id beet on the ifs one last time:D

aww crap none of the axles came with hubs and the 30 spline hubs i had i gave to mike for his sas if anyone has some extras they would like to sell let me know

I think I have some used aisin hubs from the front of a late 80's or early 90's Toy pick up.

If you are interested, I can dig around my stuff and see. I will be away for the weekend, can check on Mon or possibly Sun night.

IFS hubs don't work on solid axle trucks. Different spline count.

thanks but i need a 30 spline count hub off a solid axle

you can use the IFS hubs with Bobby Long's chromo 30 spline hub gear conversions. If you're thinking of running his 30 spline longfields, its almost a necessity or you will blow up the stock hubs gears. I did...

I have a complete front (straight) axle assembly from an 85 pick up as well, I forgot about that one cause' it is at my brother in laws house. Just spoke to him and he says it has the hubs installed too. He said they are stock Toy hubs, so I think they are the Aisin as well.

I'll sell em' if you are interested, either set, from the straight or the IFS. LMK

that would be great how mutch do you want for them
