Up on the block is a 4BT bread van. Aluminum box. Dually rear. Circa 1980. Motor is an 89?
Clutch linkage needs work( Will try to get to that) and injection pump may need replacement(leaks), tranny to bellhousing mount is funky. Sorry, mileage is undocumented, titled.
Starts quick, no smoke on start up, black haze upon acceleration. I drove it home 30+ miles. Oil pressure is 35 at idle, 60 with throttle.
I hope to get definite oil pressure figures in a few days via actual pressure gauge. don't know about engine compression figures, maybe...
Located near Medford-Grants Pass and I wouldn't recommend driving far in it current condition. Will separate the motor from the van but will try selling locally complete first. $2000 complete.

what problems would keep it from driving to Crescent City ?

thanks

Well, the clutch linkage was worn (cable type) and I think I can get that fixed. For some reason many bolts are missing that mount the tranny to crossmember and then tranny to bellhousing and then bellhousing to adapter. I wouldn't be surprise if clutch was changed by someone under the influence of intoxicants or they just didn't tighten them up.
I discovered the fuel leak off of the injection pump after I brought it home... it still runs I just don't know if it is overfueling and don't want to melt anything down.
I confirmed the oil pressure and after about 5-10 minutes of running at speed and idle it had 30 lbs at idle and 55 with a fair amount of throttle with a fresh oil change. Hope to get a compression tester this week. Just need to figure out the proper MO.
I would hate for anyone to get this thing 1/2 way home and then have something happen.
I also did a temp check and at the radiator it was about 170* plus.
I drove it from the other side of Medford to here, apx 40 miles with out being able to shift with a clutch... lots of fun.

sweet deal on a complete van! good luck kief. ;)
