This year I was invited to Cruiserfest and the 3 day run from Green river UT to SLC and Cruiserfest. Timing worked out and as always I started the adventure from So Calif to Nor Calif and 45run 2016 hosted by Georg/ Valley Hybrids @orangefj45 . I left on a Thursday morning and made it to the shop. Georg had been working on a guys 70 series they had been travelling the country for the last 6 months. Its always great showing up early and hangin out at the shop. I was taking my 1/4 ton military trailer again this year with a few upgrades. So far the 45 and trailer were running and working Great. As always the weeks before were filled with checking and replacing a few things.

Yes the 45 Run is always a must on our book. We have made some Great Friends/Family over the years and this was no exception. By Saturday everything was on full swing. Fishing, relaxing and later that night after dinner the Disco balls came out LOL

Saturday night raffle was a Blast. Georg as always made sure everyone had a ticket. There were some great prizes handed out again this year and without me knowing Georg and my wife Wendy got together for this years 15th annual 45 Run shirt logo. I was blown away and still feel so Honored. This community of people really are Family to us and I could not imagine not having or being able to share these adventures.

Thanks @whitey45, Sunday morning it was time to hit the trail early and head East. My next stop would be Ely Nevada it was going to be a hard 502 miles. I was looking at a 10 hour drive minimum. I hooked up with Jason who is going to school in Reno and followed him out down the 4 east then onto I-50 I made it to Ely and set up camp at the local KOA. After a good nights sleep I went downtown for breakfast. Turns out there is a Railroad museum.

The museum was closed but I still got some great pics. At one point some guys showed up and we started talking turned out they worked they and were going to inspect the track. After finding out I worked for the railroad I was asked if I wanted to help. YEA ! I had fun and it was one for the books for sure

Yes @HENDOG I painted that on there myself I think it was when @rockcod Tony drove it to the 45Run in 2012. I still had the LV. Thinking about something really EPIC next year the Ol Gal turns 50. I left Ely and headed out to I-50 a short 330 miles to Green river Utah . I found the KOA and had dinner after about 9pm I went to bed then I heard him pull in. @45Kevin had left Alberta and was meeting me in Green River to also make the tails to SLC and Cruiserfest. The next morning we met up with @cruiseroutfit Kurt shook hands and met the others in our group. We were off. 12 rigs and looking for adventure

If you have not spent any time in the Green River area of Utah its Amazing Kurt is the perfect guide and took us on some great trails. The first day we headed for Dragon Canyon ( I think ) sandy washes and a few steps. I had put a Aussie locker in the 45 prior to the trip. We were doing great until I got caught on the 3rd obstacle I had rolled back and bent the rear driveshaft about that time Kevin came on the radio " Rob get out and lock your hubs " OOPS It wasn't to bad for the trail and I wasn't gonna worry about it until it became a real problem

We made it thru the day with no major problems and set up camp along the ridge of another awesome view. @45Kevin started grilling steaks over the camp fire and I worked on beans and bell peppers. It was a quiet night and around the camp fire everyone started sharing their story. We had some locals, a family who drove out from Florida, Kevin and myself. Everyone was getting settled in and this was turning out to be a Great group of people

Rad trip, I enjoyed following along on facebooks as well. You're the man Rob

Great write-up Rob! My little girl and I had a blast on the Green River>Cruiserfest run with you, and we very much hope to meet you on the trail again soon.

We woke up Thursday morning and started our day. I want to take you back to the start of this adventure I didnt think we would find to much shade in Utah ( based on my limited knowledge ) so I designed my own, A $10 yard sale umbrella, 5 Ft steel rod and a clamp. I used the tailgate to mount the rod and there ya go Instant shade. Even Kurt @cruiseroutfit made the comment when I pulled out the rod and clamp Oh I cant see where this s going LOL
