That body looks pretty nice. The engine bay looks kinda funky though. Especially the oil filter.

oil filter is correct, it uses a replaceable element, it might not quite be the right spot but if not its darn close

I know that is the original bath style filter. Shouldn't it be mounted on the firewall? What is that one being supported by?

if you know..........dont ask :D

but it mounts with u bolts around the manifold..........same as mine is mounted, cept this one is off kilter because of the bigger carb

where would you mount it on the firewall?

On my 45 lwb it was mounted to the firewall next to the clutch master cylinder. I think i could find a pic of it.

I took the original oil filter off my '65 about 10 years ago. I'm certain it was on the firewall. I could probably look to see just where it had been bolted on there, but that truck is literally buried in my garage at this time. Maybe Krzyabncanuk has a photo to post.

I did look at the '67 yesterday though, and it is on the manifold like you said. Maybe Toyota moved it some time in late '65 or in '66? Maybe the one on my '65 had been moved, although I doubt that. Maybe my memory is just fawked.

might be the latter ones are on the firewall, both my 64 LV and 65 fj40 were on the manifold......I'll dig thru some parts books maybe this weekend and see what they show.
