I've been running into a Sage Green 40th Anniversary every couple of weeks here in Santiago. A lady in her 50s drives it. I spoke to her once, I offered to buy it, she asked for 25 USD. (I guess she knows what she has) She said she imported it herself. I'm willing to bet it was purchased in Florida.

I just purchased a 40th Anniversary in October. Here is some information on it:

1. 0027
2. Emerald
3. 168896
4. Washington
5. Washington
6. Michael Newell

It's currently 100% stock but I plan on doing some "light" modifications to it. I bought it a couple of months ago from a local Toyota dealership (Magic Toyota in Burien). If anyone in the area knows anything about it or the previous owner, I'd love to know!

Jim, you know all about #3727 so the only thing you have to change is its present whereabouts to CO. I can barely restrain my glee and it's all your fault!! Woohoo!

Australian 40th

I have a maroon 97 model 40th Anniversary we did not get serial numbers that you guys got. Ours came in mica maroon, flaxen (gold), mica green, and mica blue that i know of.

Aus did not come out with factory lockers but the extras on a 40th were.

Console around gearstick
ABS Brakes
Alloy wheels
Colour coded flares
Interior trim upgrade (not leather)
3rd row seats although most 80's have this.
dual fuel tanks with roof mount gauge.

Can find more details if you want.

By NO MEANS would I make any extra effort to try and buy a 40th. There is nothing unique about them other than color and two-tone leather. When I was looking this last time, finding a 40th wasn't even on my list, it just happened that this truck was everthing else I was wanting. Though I like the color, the only real bennie to me is the body side molding.

Don't forget the 40th editions also have two tone wheels and "auto" climate controls.

Looks like I'll add to this one as well.

Mine's Sage, #4744

The badges on the aprons, outside, do not have numbers. The badge on the center shift console are the ones that are serialized.

There are some that have no numbers. C-Dan has one in the package, but Toyota no longer makes them. I believe that they were made as replacements for folks who lost/damaged/destroyed the original one in the truck.

Kaderabek's old fake 40th has a non-numbered center plaque, I believe.

Maybe your truck's original one was lost/damaged and the PO bought a replacement from Toyota while they were still available.

Thanks Garth, that explains it. I thought the PO had reglued the faux wood trim because there is excess glue around the edges of some of the trim. The glue is not too noticable, but definitaly not a factory job. The PO must have installed Toyota replacement trim.

Sorry if i missed this earlier in the thread, but is the number displayed elsewhere, or incorporated into the VIN?

No, only on the one interior badge. The whole badge package was installed at the port or by dealers. There is no known link between the VIN, the Anniv Serial number, where the truck was sold, whether it had lockers etc.

I have a Mica blue Aussie 40th anniversary model (4.2 litre diesel, 5 speed manual), does that count? :)

As far a colours are concered, I've seen quite a few white ones, a heap of chamagne (same colour as mine https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=131195 ) and a dark grey. The 40th seem very common up here, never noticed them until I brought mine but:o . 80 series in general are every where here, but 4x4 are the most common mode of transport here:flipoff2:
