40 series troopy on a 60 series frame. Possible ?

Hey guys I’ve looked around and dun some searches but haven’t found anything to use full
I just got a old 60 wagon that with a bit of work could be on the road again no real problem but for the last few yeas i have been in a love affair with my old hj47 troopy the wife is kind of gallous.
My plan was to take the diffs the power steering the leaf springs and the power steering and fit them after alot of work and a bit of welding to the awesome troopy but I’m kind of thinking it might be easier to just take the body off the troopy and drop it on the 60 has any one done this is it even possible what way should i go my old man is telling me to wash my hands of the troopy and get the boring old 60 going any thoughts would be appreciated

anything is possible but you would have to stretch the 60 wheelbase by 10 inches to match the 45 troopy body

swapping the power steer and a diffs isnt a huge task my troopy has the 60 series power steer and also a 60 rear diff haven't got around to the front diff yet

theres no point in using 60 springs under a 45 you really don't want a longer wheelbase and 60 springs are shorter than 45 rears so that defeats the purpose


i guess it also depends what you want the vehicle for

i was thinking the 60 springs because i was told that they would be a softer ride was hoping they wouldn’t change my wheel base to much and thanks i didn’t realise the troopy was longer than the 60 will some awesome shockies help with the harsh ride in the 40 ?

well really it depends what you want the vehicle for im building mine for touring so dont need much lift i want comfort so ive removed all the load leaves from the spring packs and imo its comfortable enough however GOOD seats are a must i also run 35's so the tyres take up alot of the bumps and roughness imo


good shocks should help but im no shock expert i beleive a set of soft shocks is what you want for comfort
