I've about given up, to be honest, but my mate in NSW who has been on this hunt for a few years, still beats the dead unicorn carcass.
Last viable lead in Oz was a scrapper who (supposedly) had 4 that were junk, but was willing to remove the top plates, box and ship to buddy in NSW, for $1,600AUD.
He must've googled and landed on Mud because the price jumped the next day to $2,400AUD each.
An untapped potential resource is Europe, having seen a lot of interesting offerings on the web, but I don't speak-a da anything but English.
That said, I am aware of one potential resource that's a little concerned about outlaying working capital on LX H55s in unknown condition.
Thinking a price point between 2.5-3k, again, unknown condition, so the top plates may be the only usable item.
That said, I understand their concerns and hesitation.....
BUT, for those that are stupid insane and wish to appease the voices with the most elegant solution for a <3,000RPM 65 mph cruising experience, without having a shifter bouncing off the Tuffy top, 2nd crammed in their knee, or additional holes to fill, that's a small price to pay for a mounted unicorn.
