Nice work as always Matt your attention to detail in metal work is nice.. Good looking rig all the way around.

Makes me think I need to get to work on mine...

Looks really nice. I was wondering if there is any concern on the differential tube warping from the welding the braces on. Just curious.

Thanks guys. Almost done with the front, I just need to weld up a few bits and make bumpstops.

Out of curiosity, why those shocks ?
What advantage do those have over... Say.... Pro comps or ranchos??

LOTS of toyota guys run these shocks with the same build style as mine. From what Ive read theyre a good combo for the runner, and I have the 7100's on my 80 and like them.

I took my time and did all the welding over a week or two period. I would weld a tiny bit in spots far away from eachother, then let it cool or just come back to it later. I never got the axle heated up so Im not too worried about it. Everything seems good to me and being an 85 it had the factory gusset on the bottom already.

Made some shock towers and welded up the Marlin crawler knuckle gussets. Truck rides great on the freeway with the new shocks on!

Awesome job. They look great as does your other work.

Jack

Looking awesome dude! Wish I had welding skills like yours, let alone room to weld, or welding equipment for that matter!

Just need some 5.29's now.

Jack

Yup. I have. 5.29 locked rear axle in the garage ready to go. Just need to change the front.

Played around a little bit on HLT yesterday. This was a really steep section that got a bit hairy... Haha

Everything is looking good. Gearing is nice and should be even better once the lower axle gears are in.

Jack

Rear bumper is done, just need to add some tubing.

I really wish these trucks didnt have such a fat butt! Holding back just bobbing the rear, Ill save that for next winters project.

Great work as usual. Are you going to put some "hoops" above the bumper behind the back tire to help protect that rear quarter panel?

Jack

Yes sir! I'll add a small section of tubing to the sides just like on the cruiser. It's saved my other trucks before, and it makes for a good high lift point when strong enough.

I would love to run parts of Fordyce, but theres a lot of trails around here (really close to you actually) that we go out on.

Last night we ran Billy Bob, and this morning we're going to run Tonka. The Cruiser made it through Tonka (with some rock rash :grinpimp:).

Need to take the top off, for one thing you'll get about 100hp more with less weight....wait since you added all the armor it's a break even. Still would be nice topless.

I cant wait to take the top off and build a cage! One of the main reasons why I wanted this style truck.

Went back out again yesterday and ran Tonka. Hope to have some video to post up soon.

After the night run this weekend I decided to get going on my rock lights also. I only have 4 out of the planned 10 I'm going to put under the truck. 2 at each wheel well, and one on each side above the rock sliders.
