While the new designs are certainly performing better in new cars, I have to wonder how much the 3FE's going to get from a better-
atomized fuel supply. No, it can't HURT, if the volume's the same, but I can't imagine that improving the injector while still using an
iron 2- valve non- hemispherical head will get you much.

But to answer your question: no, I haven't tried it. I just sent the OE ones in for a cleaning...

Saw them myself a few days ago and came across this thread while searching for info on them here. Like these, the ones I saw were (or at least claimed to be) made by Bosch. If the comparison videos are as accurate as they are made to appear, I would imagine a considerably smoother running engine, with a possible increase in fuel economy and maybe slight increase in performance (most likely small enough that it would only be actually detected on a dyno. I would expect any seat of the pants improvement in performance would be just a placebo effect). What I wonder is if they actually are Bosch injectors, what is Bosch's actual P/N for them, or what vehicle are they being cross referenced from.

I have to admit I'm curious to try them, but before doing that I'd rather give mine a good cleaning with an ultrasonic cleaner and then purge them out good with an automated cleaning setup I'm toying around with designs for (easy electronic design; just a couple 555 timers and a MOSFET strong enough to trigger all six), then installing the rebuild kits from Toyota. I've got my installed injectors plus a set of six spares thanks to Krazy so I'll flow test them and reinstall the six best matched. Be nice to get that done sometime this winter, but I do want to get my voltage regulator finalized and marketable before beginning another project.

care to share the diagram for your ultrasonic cleaner? I'd understand if you didn't...

Nothing really to share on that front. I was just planning to buy one. Not necessarily this in particular, but something inexpensive like one of these: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001G42NPO/?tag=ihco-20

DIY would be neat, but for something that banal, I'd rather focus my time on other projects.

If you are in Spokane we send all our injectors to witch hunter performance here in Redmond top be cleaned and tested. He does a good job and for a reasonable price.

Those injectors might work but I would be wary of how long. They are cheap for a reason.

I haven't tried the 4-hole ones you linked (which are rated at 36 psi) but I did recently upgrade the fuel injectors in my FJ62 (custom 2f-e engine) with custom units rated at 22 psi and noticed a HUGE performance increase, right away. I'm talking about being able to pull in 5th gear (I also have replaced the auto trans with an H55f) when it couldn't before; when I touch the accelerator it sounds like - and I'm quoting someone else here - a raped ape. Having these injectors changed my use of throttle from very liberal (floored often) to conservative (almost never floored) and I think fuel economy is also improved for this reason (even though they have the ability to blast lots of fuel into the engine, I don't have to use that ability much) but I don't know for sure yet, because they're still very new and my odometer/speedometer are totally inaccurate anymore and need to be recalibrated. My engine has other things which may be embellishing the performance increase brought on the by just the new fuel injectors, but I highly recommend that upgrade, in general. I'm now also going to put hi-flow injectors in my Subaru too.

Interesting. I'm torn between having the injectors from my donor motor rebuilt by the local hi-po shop, they do the race car's injectors and have a good reputation, or these which are untested. Not trying to set the world on fire here in power upgrades, we all know how that ends up.

Did you try the newer style injectors? How many pounds are the stock injectors?

Thanks for reminding me about these.

I have no clue about the stars of the stock injectors.

My new 3FE is nearing completion, and I never came to the conclusion as to:

A- send the set I have to RC engineering, a proven source that has done 3sets of injectors for my household and are generally well known. Cost in the ballpark of ~$160.

B- buy these from eBay, unproven SO FAR. It's $20 more with half the time to get them, not that it makes a difference because the motor won't be in the car till probably late February.

C- new/rebuilt injectors from a different Toyota car. A member in the FJ40 section is running Supra injectors in a 3FE but his project isn't mobile yet as far as I'm aware so I haven't heard any feed back on them, and they might require some ECU modifications.

TLDR; I haven't decided yet :)

have yours cleaned or a set of other cruiser injectors- the injectors from the fj80 3FE are flowing more fuel than the injectors from the fj62 3FE- but that could just be that the fj62 3FEs injectors are 150,000 miles more clogged than the fj80 injectors- OR the fj80 injectors flow more fuel...poke around in the 80s forum- they have alot of hidden tech in their jibberish...

Watching this thread...

Does anyone have the link to the 4 hole injectors? I just replaced all the seals and had my stock injectors ultrasonically cleaned locally. Im bummed because I believe the seals are leaking again. I followed the FSM to the T. It called for 9 ft-lbs of toque on the fuel delivery rail.

So if I have to open this thing up again to replace seals, I would be interested in a better more economical injector.

I'm looking to rebuild/upgrade my 3FE this summer, care to share where you got your injectors? Also interested in anything else you did???

The add says these are for 1988-1992 3FE's. Have you had the injectors from your 62 and 80 series motors flow tested side by side?

Toyodiy.com has the same part number for 80 and 62 series fuel injectors, 23209-61010. I would guess, and suspect, that they are the same.

Do you suppose they fit into the intake manifold with the same o-rings, spacers caps and seals as the original injectors?

I have not had them flo tested- it is a rumor I heard that the injectors have different flow rate between the fj62, fj80 and fzj80, even tho they have the same PN and same connectors/orings/rail and plenum. maybe the pressure regulator and damper and pump are where the diff is. maybe there is no diff, but that fj80 3fe sure feels alot stronger than the fj62 3FE- same pump and computer; just fj80 damper regulator and injectors...ithe fj62 is stronger and faster but gets just a bit less mileage, which is why I am thinking the injectors have more flo...Toyodiy also has different PNs for the rear bearings on an fzj80; the change happening mid 94- even tho the only change is the bearings manufacturer; according to Beno, the bearings are physically the same...

Well guys,
With the help of a friend, I installed these injectors today. On initial start up, the 3FE seems to idle smoother. These injectors are louder. The entire rpm range seems smoother. Install went well, the same as installing the standard injectors. I have about 15 miles on them so far. I'll report back with performance and mileage later with more miles.
