I went with gears from cruiseroutfitters and am running 4.88's with 33x10.50's. Couldn't be happier-helped my off-road low range a bunch too...

With a good valve body and torque converter (my stall is kick up a couple hundred rpm over stock) the A440F will perform a lot better. For the warn splines you need the McNamara gear. No tranny teardown required. When I had my A440F rebuilt I dropped in this gear even though my output shaft was OK (insurance I figured). The tranny shop loved the gear - they were all too familiar with the output shaft wear problem.
