I'm interested to see how many 100 owners actually leave the 3rd row seats in their rig. Or, if they take them out and probably never to install them again, like myself. If I do, for some strange reason ever need to put them back in, I can..

My answer is OUT, most likely never to be put back in.

I leave them in as well. I like the 8 seats just in case I need to run 5 or 6 children home from a party.

IN

Two child seats in the middle seat mean that someone's crawling over the tailgate to get in the way back at some point.

We have a Milford cargo barrier and the ARB fridge mounted on an AO slider that in turn is bolted to the floor using the four mounting bolts for the driver side 3rd row seat. Since we have the cargo barrier, I don't bother running the other seat either (not going to put anyone back there with the barrier in place!). If we need to carry more people (which we sometimes do), I have to remove the cargo barrier and fridge anyway, so it's not much more trouble to put the seats back in. Or, we also have the capability to run only the passenger side 3rd row seat and leave the fridge in place on the other side. But I still have to remove the cargo barrier either way.

When not using the seats (which is obviously most of the time), I place them in big trash bags (to keep dust off) and store them in the garage. I leave the bags unsealed so the seats can breathe.

I got some rear seat storage bags from SOR for the 3rd rows that are very nice.

How about setting up a poll? I only put mine in if I need to carry > 5 persons, which is virtually never (maybe over X-mas or T-giving holidays so we don't have to take 2 cars somewhere).

None, one, and two... Depends

We usually leave at least 1 jumpseat in there. Soccer mom or playdate dad duties frequently have us carrying around at least 1 or 2 extra kids. So it's handy for one of the kids to jump into the solo "Wayback seat". And the others complain that they didn't get to ride in it.

The 1 seat configuration leaves enough room, when folded against the wall, to load up for a trip to the dump on Saturdays. Wahoooo! We also try to leave one seat in there when we go on vacation. Leaves enough room for the dog crate and big ice chest/cooler and a few bags. Big luggage goes into the Thule on the roof.

This week, we have both seats in there. Wifey must have taken the kids and cousins for a ride somewhere. Takes up a little extra space, but not a big deal if we have no plans to haul cargo.

Then there are some months where I pull out both 3rd row seats and leave them on a mat on the garage floor. Nobody seems to miss them. Nice cavernous space for cargo and/or for the dog to move around.

I use them. I generally keep the right side installed and the other in the garage. The mass seating option is used alot here for games, parties, etc. (my son's school does not have busses, so the soccer team needs carpools).

I find the passenger side is the best to leave in because it is the farthest from the subwoofer and the closest to the folding rear seat for access.

The two priority secondary uses (primary is DD) that I bought this vehicle for were seating and towing. Needed the leg room for teens and adults and like to travel with the camper or other trailers.

Pulled mine out on day 1. Probably wont go back in till I have kids!

Pulled mine out on day one and had them sealed in military-grade plastic to be extracted 10+ years down the road.

Got the ones from the '99 stored in our guest room closet (helps limit the amount of luggage the inlaws can bring..he, he!), but the ones in the '03 are in, it's one of the reasons I wanted a 100 for my wife. Even with the seats in her 100 has more cargo room than our old 4Runner.

removed mine day 1 and now am considering removing the drivers side second row seat to install a single bed mattress 38"x75" when needed and to lighten up a little more.

Mine stay in. The 3rd row seat are the only back seats I currently have installed. I've completely removed the second row and now my friends call it my Toyota "limo".
