Clearances look tight but you have to remember that all of these pics are taken about an 1" or so past full bump.

For what it's worth, it's a good idea to locate the steering ram slightly back from the front of the truck. This will have the steering arms angled slightly forward.

It makes for a stronger setup.

Also, I would add more locating mounts for that ram. the clamp style have a tendance to work loose over time.

Its hard to see in the pics, but that is what we've done. The ram is just a little bit rear of being in line when the wheels are straight ahead. Station has machined a lip and receiver groove on the ram and mounts. Hope that s*** don't happen!

Here's a pic of the rims painted. I think they look dang good.

The rear diff cover after Devin cut the bottom off and modified it to fit the shaved rear end.
You can also see some of the brake lines that had to be bent and the trussing on the 14 bolt.

Crazy brake lines.

And the beginning of the skid plate for the tranny and oilpan.

And now for the ones we've all been waiting for:

Looking at the bumpstops in the pictures, does anyone have any suggestions on any other stops that are maybe a little tougher? We were flexing it out and were able to completely rip these off of the front end. Granted we didn't have the airshocks on so they were carrying a hell of a lot of weight. Thinking that something a little harder would work out better. Can't afford airbumps though!

Got the bumpstops done:
They got some pretty little holes in 'em

They tighten with a spanner wrench.

Yep, its about 5 miles from the house.

I like how you're keeping it as low as possible. The design, stoutness of materials, techniques, & the end result is totally :smokin: A dimple died rear truss woulda looked nice. Those hydro bumps have a large O.D. Do you already have your coilovers?

I'm contemplating cutting my front frame similar to waht you did in order to keep it low. How are you going to tie a winch, radiator, front bib, etc. to those raised 2 X 2's? Are those 2 X 2's 1/8" wall & do you think they're heavy duy enough to hold the rest of the front end components & stress from the winch?

Very old thread but I thought I'd bump it back to life before I begin linking mine. Should be done by now but then again mine isn't finished either!
