Is this bumpstop normal? Sory for the poor quality pics. I had a hard time getting the cam to focus in low light. Anyway, sitting with normal weight on teh rear, the rubber bumpstops inside the springs are only about 3/4" from contact. I'm wandering if this is some sort of overload spring or if this is what normaly come in the rear of a third gen. It's a 96 limited 4wd. The pic on the left is lifted a little with a jack on the hitch, the right is just static.
Thanks

yeah, is the rear of the runner sagging? they usually do and if you want new springs stock height, get some ome 890's. Bump stop is normal

Thanks. Yeah, I've got a little sag. It's not all that bad, but when I load it shows. I've been thinking about something like 1" spacers, but maybe some new springs would be an ok idea. I guess it does have 150k on the ticker. I've also been considering a set of stock 99 springs. I'm not sure if they are much different than the 890s. I really don't want much lift. I've got an fj40 for that.

I just put the 99 springs in my 4runner and i think that it is perfect, I too have a 40 for wheeling so my goal was not to lift the runner or make the ride harsh. I have the part number if you want paid 150 for both. there are 3 different rear springs for the 99' you want 4x4 w/16" factory rims

FWIW...at least on 97s, the rear coils were replaced for free at dealers under a TSB. Check it out

Yes its normal. Feel free to cut out the internal cone bump stop. It was installed after the exloder firestone SUV flip over debacle. The rear already has a bump stop and the cone is just and extra pain.
