3rd gen 4runner 4hi will not ingage

Hey guys I need your help. I have a 99 4runner with a push button, 4hi, 2hi, and for some reason the past 3 days the 4hi won't engage. 3 days ago I pushed the button to ingage it and it lit up on the dash, but all it dous is blink and not ingage, and it's been blinking non stop since then. Thanks.

If mine does not engage I get going to about 20mph accelerating under load. Then I abruptly take my foot off the gas and the lights stop blinking. Works for me.

I used to do that to, but now it doesn't do that at all and even when the 4 wheel drive button is off the light still keeps blinking.

Does 4lo work properly?

Yes everything works perfectly including the lockers

Sounds like the actuator or shift rod is dragging a bit.
Could be something simple as dirty connections.

You can also try repeatedly driving th vehicle in reverse, then forward, then reverse, then forward a few times. Usually solves this problem for me

2 minutes into video he sprays electronic cleaner and fixes the controls actuator, oil leaks will foul up the connection 4wd
