so I have a 92 ln130 Hilux Surf, and I think my head has a small crack and leaking coolant into the cylinders, I was looking at getting a replacement 3L head and swapping that on, but I was wondering if a 3L can run with the 2LTE pump, I have 3L injectors in the 2LTE currently as they had the same nozzle opening pressures as the 2LTE injectors and mine failed, runs good with them.
I know that I would swap on the oil cooler from my 2LTE and for the turbo oil feed and the water lines from my 2LTE and then have to drill and tap/weld a oil return line in the sump, and the 3L doesn't have a crank position sensor, but would I be able to run the 2LTE pump with a 3L and the 2LTE ECU and put a trigger wheel on the crank.
So would a 3L run with the injector pump off a 2LTE or will it lean out due to the engine size being .4L more.
I've head a 2LT late gen pump, would run it, or swap the 2LT ii boost comp onto the 3L pump.
I'm just trying to find the cheapest route as for the price of a new 3L head to swap onto my 2LTE, I could get a wrecker 3L on marketplace and throw some bearings in, and new rings and swap the turbo setup on with the 2LTE pump on and run that, IF that would run and work.
