Has anyone tried running a 3FE without the water lines through the throttle body and IAC valve? I’m planning a 3FE build to be as simple as possible and I want to block one of the water pump outlets (heater delete) that also feeds those lines.

A thought, maybe those water lines are there to keep those components warm in colder climates?

I think that's a reasonable conclusion. You could always leave them off and see how it goes in your warm climate.

That’s certainly the plan when I get the motor back in the truck, figured it was worth a shot to see if someoneif already has a definite answer.

I really hope I can, those hoses are kind of a pain so it would be nice to delete them and chop the hardlines.

Any late consensus on this…I think the water pump likes are just for warming idling the engine up until a certain temp is reached….yes, in cold climates. I live in Louisiana, soooooo not needed. Simpler 3FE would be nice.

That's their exact reason, preventing frost buildup when driving in cold temperatures. There's no difference in warm weather between having them or not, but if you get winter temps below freezing I would definitely keep them intact.

As long as the rig you're building for is staying in Florida (or at least in the southern states), you can easily go without them.

I can see not needinit at all for the throttle plate, but worried it may idle crazy if I bypass it from the AICV….this may get a test run soon and see how each option affect the truck…it only freezes rarely in January and February here…only short lived and this is not my daily driver.

Thanks,

Todd H.
