Hi all,
I've been struggling the last year or so with the idle on my turbo(ct26) intercooled 3B swapped FJ75. There's a couple problems. First off, I live at sea level in the Vancouver, Canada area, and every I travel to higher altitudes - Kamloops, Calgary, Salt Lake City, the idle on my 3B goes up significantly. I have been adjusting it with the screw (not the nuts) that effect the spring loaded throttle cable. When we go to higher altiltudes for a few days, I will lower the idle. Then when we get back to sea level, I will raise the idle.
However recently at sea level, I've been having to lower the idle because it seems to be climbing up overtime. I also notice, on cold days with the lower idle the truck shakes a lot until it warms up, then it idles nice and doesn't shake. If I raise the idle, it doesn't shake as much when its cold, but once it warms up it seems like its idling at 1000rpm.
I can hear what I think is the EDIC clicking when I turn the key on, and the rod moves and resets before I turn the ignition. What does the EDIC do? Could it be bad?
Any thoughts? Is there a cold start device on these 3B's?
