so i have a 1998 toyota land cruiser 100 series all stock. I'm planning on getting a new bumper cause i just tore mine off getting stuck in the mud so that shouldn't affect the front tires but anyways i was just wondering if i got a 2.5 inch lift wouldn't i be able to put 37's on it? I'm pretty sure i measured it out to have 2 inches of travel to the bottom of the fender till contact. can anyone confirm?

A suspension lift does not affect what tire size you can fit.

That said, 315/75-16's (barely 35") rub a little without bump stop adjustments, body lifts, and spacers.
I would say "no way."

Yes, you can put 37s on the 100... you just won't be able to drive it.

You're looking at a whole lotta money and mods to make 37s work. If your off-roading aspirations are are aimed at deep mud, I'm thinking you're in the wrong truck. Better to swap now before sinking a ton of time and money into it the 100.

But, if you're committed - there's some good info here on what it takes to make 37s work - play with the search and read on...

you will for sure need gears also

Not that it can't be done, but it's probably the wrong platform for it.

An example of what it would take to fit your 37's (a whole lot more than the typical 2.5" spring/torsion lift):

ok so if i only got 35's, would that work without having to re gear it and no rubbing? I dont really do deep mud more of dirt trails some rock and hill climbs. and this thing climbs hills like a beast..

I've got 35s on mine and love it but I have an 04 lx470 and just did the ahc lift. I find no need to re gear but I will when I get lockers Mainly because I'll already be in there and I'm hoping to strengthen the gear set a bit.

If your going to wheel it, I'd go 33's. Mainly so your torsion bars arent maxed out and make your 100 ride like a radio flyer wagon. But I guess thats personal preference. Also depends if you care to trim or not. IF you dont care to use a sawzall 35's will work. A 35 is going to rub pretty hard if you wheel it. IMO.

I disagree. I did have to trim the front bumper and fold the pinch seam behind the front tire but even to someone that knows the land cruiser platform you can't tell I did any body modifications. As for my ride it's just as comfortable and smooth as the day I got it. Just like any other platform and lift, there's ways to do it correctly and hack jobs. The hack jobs will probably ride like crap.

My major downside is my fear of blowing the front end. That's my only major downside to going to 35s but like I said before I plan on gearing and doing lockers anyway and this isn't a daily driver so it's not a big deal to me.

The other thing I noticed is there is more wear on the front seats due to sliding in and out rather then stepping in and out. I'm hoping once I get sliders that will change.

ok yeah I'm so doing 35's thats sick. even if i have to modify it a little bit i dont care. thanks for the input y'all! oh and IH8MUD!!! got stuck in the mud last weekend and its like clay here in alabama and i was laying under my car for hours trying to get it all off. I'm gonna stick with hill climbs and rock crawling...

Went to studded 35s for this winter. had to hammer back the pinch weld and cut back the fender liners, but they don't rub. 1" body lift and 1.5" OME. Haven't played with the T-Bars yet. I need to do an alignment. I'd like the ability to put 37s on for snow missions, but I'm thinking a bobbed pick-up with 39.5 IROKs and SAS would be better for those limited number of missions.

Throw a sprinkler under the truck seems to get most of the clay/mud
