Skim remember that the Outback arms will allow you to move your front axle forward more than an inch from it's stock location so I've never had an issue with my 37 Toyo's rubbing in the front fender well. On the stock rims without wheel spacers though it is possible to hit the control arm itself at full lock with bigger/wider tires. For me this was worse on the 315's on the Tundra/Sequoia rims that sat inboard at least another inch versus the stock ones. I pretty much couldn't run them without the spacers.
The backs will fit fine IMO. Mount them up and stuff them before you go hacking, you might be content to leave it alone for a while

Mind you at 600000 feet, or whatever Golden Co. is , I was SERIOUSLY sucking wind. OMFG .. I think on one morning (the one where I actually got lost on the way to the shop), I was sliding back down hill .. it was a lil scary!

I thought I would revive this thread from the first of the year. I have just installed 36X13.5X16 IROKS on Eagle 146 wheels with 4" backspacing and they fit very nicely. The rears stuff and do not hit and the fronts do not rub. Did remove the rear mud flaps though.
This is of course empty and without trail gear and four people in the truck. I will be installing a Warn 12000 winch in the ARB tomorrow and will throw a bunch of weight in the rear and head out to the backyard to flex it out more thoroughly.
This is with the complete Slee 4" kit W/ the new arms and "L" shocks. Esentially the 6" kit with 4" springs.

I have the 36x13.5x15 IRocks w/ 10-inch rims, on my FJ60. They are like balloons, makes the truck look like a cartoon. They are noisy and wear fast, but they sure are fun to wheel.

Hey Jim it's been a long time. I won't be able to make the Eureka trip due to a previous engagement (unless dates change by a few days) but will probably make the Tok run and others. When are you coming up? which rig are you bringing? I was under the impression that the Eureka run was going to be the "Hardcore run" and wasn't going to be 80 friendly and was going to be FJ40's with Boggers only.
I'm just about done with the 80 and then I'm going to do a SOA on my 40 using the springs from our FJ62 build. Then I have 38.5X15X16 Boggers and 4:88's for that rig. I was hoping to have it done by the Eureka run but the dates didn't work for me.
Hows everthing in Pismo? Well I hope! I have been following your Surf & Turf event via the internet for years now, sounds like a great event. I would like to take the 80 to it one day.

I will be getting a set of Iroks ......now it is up between 36s or 37s.

Then you should be shopping by price if youve studied the link here. The 36's are only .06'' smaller diameter, 6 pounds less, and have just over an inch more tread width. So a lighter tire at the same diameter w/ more contact patch, seems to be a no brainer!!! Especiall since 36's usually cost less than 37's and only reason not to would be if the extra width caused more rub.
Those are 36s in the above pics? Is it a smaller actual mounted diameter? I'm definately losing my mind if 36s are looking small to me...
X2 crap! I have a set of 36's setting in the garage. I tell my self they are HUGE but still I think they look small, now in the pictures they DO look kinda small......I need to quite this addiction to MUD!!!
I would go with 36X13.50X16. Their "E" rated and on an 8" wide wheel they stuff nicley and don't have the balloon/cartoon look to them.
IMHO with 4" lift a 37 will rub. My 36"s tuck and don't rub but theres no more room in the wheel well.

I have the 37's on a 10" rim with 4.5 backspacing. I have J springs with 3/4" spacer and a 1" body lift. I have the front on and just have the rear springs/shocks to install. I'll get some pics tomorrow. The tires are huge.
