I've been searching around, and haven't found anyone running these tires. I know they are expensive but I'm not sure it would be any less expensive to buy wheels and tires. Anyone running these tires I would like to know what your experience has been with fitting the tires. I know that they are good, I have them on 3 other vehicles, but I want to know if they are going to be a huge pain to make them fit. Would sure like to see pictures and know what your setup is as far as suspension.

Thanks

That's what I'm trying to decide. I'd prefer the 35" height, but I won't ever donate any more money to toyo. I am considering the 275/70r18 km2, but worry about the 18" wheels on the shorter side wall tire when aired down.

I ran that size in Toyo MT's... and now run 285/75R18's and think they fit the 100 much better.

If you don't like the Toyo MT's and AT's. The 285/75R18's are also available in the GY MTR-K and Maxxis Bighorn 762.

I'm bringing this back to the top. I am sure they will rub, just curious how bad? Is it fixable? There are guys running 325s that are 13.5 wide. Seems like if they can be made to fit that the 12.5 should be easier. Just want to hear some real world experience. I don't want to make a bad decision!

You can go back and search hoser's posts from years ago...about his experience with this size (Toyo MT). IIRC washer fluid res was a rub. Top and rear of fender will rub. And you'll need to run 1.25" or wider spacer adapters. To eliminate rub at the fender you'll need to either adjust your compression bump stops or install 1"+ body lift, cut the fender radius larger and trim the rear lower portion of the fender. Not sure if SPC arms will allow you to get 3.5* or so of caster but that might be enough to eliminate the washer fluid res rub...dunno. Or relocate the reservoir.

I would also like to run wider tires on the 18's (BBK requires 18's)...but not up for the negatives listed above plus additional rotating & unsprung weight...

so it looks like the 295/70r18 is probably a much better choice. Seems from my searching that there is still minor rubbing on the pinch weld and maybe UCAs. Does this sound right? I ran 37s on my 80, and had it all sorted and loved it. I understand the work that could go into making the tires work properly, but at the same time I switched to the 100 because we are changing directions. I am trying to build more of a "overland" travel truck. Since my kids have gotten involved my focus has shifted from "rock crawling" to exploration/camping. We drive 1000s of miles every year exploring the mountains and camping. I am even considering the 285/70r18. What are your thoughts?

The cooper s/t maxx comes in a 295/70r18 for $260. This sounds pretty good, and they have been getting great reviews. I run BFG km2s on all my work trucks and all my past 4x4s. Anyone have a comparison or thought on the s/t maxx vs. the km2

From my experience over the past 9 years of modding and running the heck out of my 100: Stay to the smallest tire that gets the job done. The multiplier, as you go taller and/or wider in tires, is not linear ;)

I am putting Toyo OC AT2 295/70/18 Tomorrow and can post picks.
285-75-17 Toyos AT 2 fit without any rubbing, but I think you are on 18's so this doesn't help..

I'm bringing this back from the dead because I'm curious with which way you went. I'm up for new tread now and I've been contemplating going to 35s. I regeared a few years back with the plan to go 285/75R18s, but after a conversation with Spressomon I've decided that's a bad idea. While the BL kit is a pretty simple solution, I have a turbo with an intercooler that could be problematic. I'm running 295/75R16 Hankook Dynapro MTs, but they're shot after 20k. Tread is good, but I've got some dangerous torque cracking. I've got the 18" OEM rims sitting in my garage, so I can either stick with a 295/75R16 or step up to a 295/70R18.

I'm leaning towards the Toyo OC AT2s in either size, but the Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx in the 295/70R18 is appealing as well. I expect some rubbing with 18"s, but I'm thinking I can get by without a BL going that route. I plan to go with the Timbren bumpstops at the same time.

I ended up going with the cooper st maxx. 295/70/18. They are great so far. Very quiet and smooth on the highway. I've got about 300 miles on dirt and they perform well there to. Haven't had them in the rocks yet so can't comment there. As far as size they are 34 inches tall. They fit well. The only rubbing I had was on the fender liner over the pinch weld. I trimmed it and stopped the rubbing. I'm going to hammer the pinch weld just to be safe, but I haven't touched it yet. I'm interested to see how the "chip resistant compound" holds up over time. I do lots of gravel/dirt road driving and all my tires in the past chip prematurely. Overall I'm very pleased with the tires.

I'm really tempted by the coopers in that size, but I think I'll be sticking with 33s for now.

Take a look at the 34.6" Nitto Terra Grapplers 295/70/18 I'm very happy with mine.

285-75-17 is an awesome tire size.... @SanDiegoCruiser, do you know the BS on the 200-series rims? Are you running spacers?

Hello,
I am new to forum and own a 2004 LC. After my purchase, I installed the 2.5 OME Suspension Kit and TOYO OC 285/65R18 = 32.6X11.2R18.
