I seen on a 70 series a guy cut out his fenders and welded in a bent pipe, same shape as the well. The the inners and the outer fender join. It looked real sweet.

It would work on your rear fenders. and even for the front, weld the whole seam and then grind smooth. would be rugged.......

i'd throw a 1" body lift on... a little extra lift will look good and help with clearance.
Regardless, interesting approach to the project- I like it.

Whats up lowtide, the list is slow going on my budget. I cut my list in half, no motor work this year. As for the suspension, the leafsprings on the truck are broken flat and I have like-new springs and making my own extended shackles to give alittle extra lift. Then to move the shock towers up for good travel. Lots of work yet!

yes the seal did go, I'm going to make a new lip and reuse the seal just alittle shorter. square lip no tooling to make round lip then just drill new holes it won't be perfect but nothing will ever be perfect(bad rust).

I like that idea , I like the lower center of gravity. I like the idea of the biggest tire I can pull off with the least amount of lift, but my body is too nice to be hacking like that.

Great job

Well, here we go again. :grinpimp:

Went over to Landwagon's to help him remove his rear axle so we can do some cleaning, some suspension stuff, and lo and behold....the thing started raining rust (along with shock hydraulic fluid, brake fluid, goopy diff. fluid from the pinion seal...) An all around good evening. Gotta love sawzall and grinder action.

Couldn't grind the stuff out. Going to use the torch tomorrow night....looks like a SOA for the wagon....gotta love the ax action too!!

Cheers.
