Nice. Send us pics of the car sitting pretty in various height when you can. Any rubbing in access? Would a profile 70 or even 65 help with the spare tire situation?
I have this same question. The 70 looks like 1" shorter of a tire, but 0.5" wider... Will this rub more/less?

A 285/65/18 is about stock height.
Exactly. That's what I have on my 200 in KO3s and they look more than enough in terms of sidewall protection. I was wondering if the 285/70/18 would be a direct replacement to the OEM sizes in the OEM Wheels without rubbing and giving a bit more fo a wide track.

Oh I thought you meant for his spare!

Yeah 285/70/18 should since a 75 fits, and the Tundra TRD Pro can fit 295/70/18 Recons so the LX should be able to to?

Well, the spare too. Curious to know if a 285/70/18 would be a good overall replacement for the OEMs 265s and still fitting the spare location correctly inflated. Just to give a bit more height and track. DT site says they are 33.7 tall, while the OEM Toyos are 32.6.

So heavy in all selections. I would run the 295/70/18 Nitto Recon Grappler in SL.

Interesting. Wider section width but not quite as tall as the 285/75. Wonder if rubbing would be more or less of a concern with this tire. I really want to squeeze some larger tires, but do not want to cut/rub.

True - E loads only in this size. Though I have E loads in my HE today and am used to them.

I am pretty sure people run these on the Tundra ok. So it should probably work ok.

Wasn't sure if you guys saw this in the other thread - Media - 300 Series Picture Thread - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/300-series-picture-thread.1269769/post-16089315

I moved to 35x11.5x17 and added the Rig'd tire carrier. Super happy with the setup. I'm at the point where I have hardly any rubbing in H1 (I only drive in normal on the highway) and the look and offset and sidewall are all what I wanted.

I used to believe traction is sacrificed with "pizza cutter" tires (not that 11.5" is exactly that) but Tinkerer's Adventures on YouTube did some great work dispelling that myth and I'm comfortable putting the 11.5 width tires through technical terrain (soon).

Gobi platform roofrack will be installed tomorrow and Slee Sliders as soon as they are available.

Yeah that looks pretty aggressive.

The 295/70/18 I mentioned would be about .1 wider and around .5-.9 inch shorter depending on the brands of both.

If I go off road direction ever I will probably do that 295/70 Recon on a ~+45 8 inch wide 18” wheel. And adjust the height sensors to max.

Your setup looks awesome. Good to know that you’re not seeing much rubbing.

My rig heads to Dissent soon so I’ve been trying to nail down tire sizing. I’m hoping to still fit a spare. I was looking at doing 285/70r18 Wildpeaks on +40mm Icons, but after watching their side by side video I think I want a little more aggressive stance. They’re suggesting a +25 offset. I’m ignorant with wheel/tire sizing. Anyone here have thoughts on +25 offset with 285/70r18?

They will stick out a little without fender flares. But that doesn’t matter much if you are lifting it….

I'm actually a tall/skinny fan if I could clear them in the spare and without rubbing (I'd go even skinnier if they made em). Your rig does look awesome. I am super interested to see the Gobi rack installed. Haven't seen one yet on a LX7.

Got a personal connection with the Gobi guys? Didn't see a lx600/700 rack available from them yet. Would love to add that to mine too.

I misspoke-Sorry but I meant Rhino platform! I have a Gobi on the Jeep so I think that was top of mind.

The Rhino platform is pretty basic, 4 feet that bolt into the factory roof rails and a platform that attaches to them. Should be great from a weight distribution standpoint.
