When I first upgraded to my RW KO2s, I felt like the tires were massive... but after 9 months I am starting to want something even bigger. Can anyone with 35"+ Tires comment on what their ride is like? What about handling?

I had 35" Toyo AT2s for a while. They were very heavy, loud and a bit harsh (they were used and a couple of years old). I didn't love them, but a fresh set would have probably driven a lot better. I now have a true 34" tire which in all actuality is the same size or bigger than a lot of "35s" like the KO2s which run very small. My 37" KO2s on my last truck (not the 200) barely measured over 35" in actual height, and most accounts show the KO2 in the 35" variety actual measure about 33.5" which would probably work out great except for the width. I actually had a set of 35" KO2s test mounted, but the width rubbed too much which is why I went with the 34" Nitto that was about an inch narrower.

35s are heavy. I ran 34s on rock warriors and didn't feel a ton of reduced acceleration and breaking. Now running 35s on 20s, gearing and bigger brakes are meeded to keep moving and stopping.

I love the look of 35s, but the 34s (285/75r17) were probably the best size to run without gearing change.

Better than stock brake pads makes a big difference slowing these big tires down youll spend time and money getting it brakes and suspension dailed in properly. Gearing is up to where you live and play. Its not the least expensive way to go but it looks fantastic. Kinda like marrying a hot chic looks great and cost some bucks.
Rolls like a caddy @ 80mph once its set up

I have run 35's and 37's on my jeeps not on my LX. My biggest advice is to keep the maintenance up on them. Rotate often and balance often. The larger tires that i have ran have had a softer compound due to the more aggressive design. Obviously they wear much quicker which starts putting excess wear on your front end.

Interesting point about maintenance issue. That may stir me away as I have enough headaches to worry about. If I were to do this I would want get BFG KO2s as they are a great street tire. I wouldn't mind spending the money on the gearing change to do things right.

Lately, in Chicago I have been seeing alot of debris, tires, and other hazards on the road and it got me thinking I wish I had bigger tires to run junk and over curbs. With my 33" KO2s I don't feel comfortable running over stuff plus my vehicle isn't currently lifted and bumpers dont have as much ground clearance.

I'm going to have a set of Nitto 285/75R17s E-load mounted in the next couple weeks. (Nitto also makes a C-load, which would be a softer ride). That's officially 33.8" though as mcgaskins notes the sidewall says they're a 34". If you're interested in seeing what the 34" Nittos look like/ride like let me know and we can try to sync up. I'm going to do the Toyota front spacer install as well, since with the airbags in the rear springs there's a solid 1.5" front-to-rear rake. Downside is that I'll likely have about a -1" rake when towing.

Definitely interested! Hit me up when you get them installed.

Re: "35..."

Ever since 1980, the number "35" instantly took on a whole new meaning after "Father" Guido Sarducci explained what happens when you die, and have to "pay for your sins...in CASH..."

Absolutely worth 5 minutes of your next coffee break:

("A-35...a-35...a-35...! -It-a adds-a-upa queeckly...") lol!
