Iam looking at 33x10.50-15 Tires. do i need to re gear? do i need to mod anything?

It will rub more than your fenders...

how about 33x9.50-15 will they rub??

I think 31 * 10.5 * 15 is what you need. I don't see how a 33 tire is not going to rub.

Did you have to regear? Any pics? any rubing when turnning?

I hated the way my 62 drove with 33x10.5s and stock gears, so much so that I went to lower gears within about three weeks of putting the tires on. YMMV.

been running 33 10.5 bfg at ko love em stock 60 no problems !

i have 33x12.50 on my stock 89. no rubbing. rides better. good power. take a little more stopping room

just got an 88 to beat in the woods put on 33-12.50's and beat it up good yesterday no rubbing other than the sheetmetal I pushed in with trees can't vouch for driveing on the road haven't had it outta 4lo:flipoff2:

There is no way 33's will fit a stock FJ6X without rubbing. Tried it, and can honestly vouch that while it might roll down the road...you will have issues in normal driving conditions.

worked for me... 33x12.5 and about as blown out as stock springs get. in all fairness, if i was totally twisted up, it did rub the rear inner fender a little bit... but it never stopped the tire or hurt anything

sorry i cant find more pictures

I have 33x10.50 bfg at on my cruiser with stock suspension. I would like to lift it, but can't afford it at the moment. However, I have had no problems whatsoever so far. It does not rub in corners or during flex. I don't have stock wheels (15x8 rockcrawlers), so maybe there is a difference there. I don't know. Just my experience.

33x12.5 r16 needed spacers in the front to clear the tie rods but no rubbing during moderate trail rides / daily driving. 33 x 10.5's should definitely fit if you are buying new wheels check the backspace on em.

I run BFG 33x9.5 no rub issues at all, original springs.
I'll put 31's on next time, and wider too.
The gearing is nice for 70mph (4spd) but sucks at 55.
