33” Spare Tire under LX570?

Hello Cruiser Heads!

Trying to determine whether it’s a good idea to buy a spare BFG KO2 LT275 60 R20 to install underneath my LX570. Ive measured it, and it appears right on the edge... I’ve had one shop tell me it’ll fit fine, and one tell me it’s a bad idea and would rub the back of the bumper.

Anyone have any experience or strong opinions? Searched the forums and couldn’t find an answer, including the tire and wheel spreadsheet, so apologies if this has already been addressed.

Anything smaller than 34" spec diameter will fit just fine.

I run 275/70R18 BFG KO2 on my LX and the spare fits without issues.

Thank you much! Any downside to using the stock basic spare wheel/rim, ignoring cosmetics? Specifically, if I got a flat while off road?

If stock, your spare wheel is the exact same as your other wheels. I do a 5 tire rotation with mine.

so you have four of one and one of another? Then your odd one should have a tire size similar diameter to the other four. It doesnt have to be exact, but close.

Appreciate the replies. Yeah, four 20” Lexus wheels, then a basic 20” spare wheel with a really old tire on it

Just be careful if tireis more than 7 years old.

Yeah, it’s pretty old looking, 31”, doesn’t match the rest, think I’ll replace it with a matching 33” KO2 on the super basic 20” wheel
