I search for a 3" stainless exhaust. Which brand can you recommend?
Important for me:
- with muffler
- high quality
- perfect welds
- very high quality stainless steel material
- perfect fitting
- 3" diameter

The price is not important!

Which brand can you recommend?
Please tell me about your experiences.

Thank you!
Marcell

This is for a 1959 Chevrolet Belair with a 235 cubic inch straight 6? Three on the tree? Or Powerglide Automatic transmission?

It usually helps to list the application. ;)

These guys make a really high quality product. I have their 3” turbo dump. Best quality
I’ve ever seen on an exhaust ever. I would have bought the whole system, but I’d already
finished my piping by the time I learned about these guys.

I am looking also. U get a straighter run if u route inside the frame rail....

Or just buy the dump pipe from the system above and have it fabricated

That is not the question
I could make the whole exhaust myself, but that's not the point.
i want to know which brand has the highest quality.
I have listed exactly what I mean by quality above.
(and the dump pipe that everyone recommends to me is exactly what I don't need because that doesn't fit me)
I make the dump pipe myself

i now know the brands from surfing the internet
- ppd performance
- Redback 4x4
- Manta
- x-force
- Legendex

but unfortunately I have no experience of the quality of them and whether there are other brands that are better processed.

There are good reviews in several mud posts on the manta and redback kits as well as beaudesert (not sure if they have an inside frame rail routing or not).

I don’t think that anyone has compared the exact material specs or weld quality. Best material would be 321 followed by 304, 441 and 409. 400 series won’t stand up to salted roads.

Manta, xforce, legendex and redback all use 409.
Ppd is 304, but I suspect it is coming from China as I have seen the same kits on alibaba. Supposedly quality is good, but I haven’t seen any reviews.

beaudesert offers 441 or 304

In any case it probably depends if you want inside frame rail (avoids extra bends to route from outside to the inside of the frame) or stock routing. I haven’t found any inside frame routing kits in 304, which is why I will probably go with a custom fitted kit or fabricate it myself. If stock routing fine and cost not a factor, I would use beaudesert. Just my 2 cents.

For best available exhaust here I'd go Beaudesert. I've been very happy with Manta, although it is 409SS. PPD I believe are Chinese but got a few mates who have been happy with them.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I've been looking all over the internet trying to find a 3 inch exhaust system for my 95 KZJ78. I'm also willing to pay for quality, and if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

There are WAY less options for Surf 's, I'd be looking in Australia at some of the same companies named above to see if they make anything for your application, otherwise you might want to just find a larger cast dump pipe, and have a local shop make up the rest of it for you.

I don’t have a surf though unless you are just referring to the KZJ as a surf. I’ll keep looking though

Sorry, I used to have a Hilux Surf with 1KZ and I misread your question, lol.

Bump - update on exhausts in 2023 and questions on exhaust materials.

My ideal setup for my HDJ81 would be a 304 stainless, routed inside the frame rails. I haven't found that exact setup yet though. I've spoken to a few companies in AU so far:

- I can get 3 different 409 systems shipped to the US: Manta, Redback and Legendex
Manta and Redback mount inside the frame.

- 304 is proving to be more difficult. Beaudesert said they would not ship to the US and Torqit has not responded to 2 different emails and a FB chat.
Both are routed outside the frame (stock)

- 304: PPD is incredibly cheap. Looks like an Alibaba special. But it would ship to the US.
Routed outside the frame (stock)

End of the day, I'd like to order a complete system and rather not fab something locally. I'm leaning toward Manta or Redback to get the benefit of the inside the frame routing. However - has anyone run a 409 exhaust setup in a place with a real winter and salted roads? I'm wondering if I should hold out for 304 for longevity.

We're a Beaudesert dealer and happy to facilitate US shipping if it's of interest.
