1991 Toyota Landcruiser with 2005 Tundra 4.7L v8 Motor has around 40,000 miles on it and runs great. Auto transmission from a 2005 LX470 with 10,000 miles. Stock transfercase is still used. Exhaust system is of course custom with headers, and 2 1/2" mandrel bent piping. Dual cats on either side which then feeds back into a custom X-pipe, which flows nicely into duel 44 series flowmaster mufflers. After that it is necked down to 2 1/4" piping for ease of routing. The exhaust tips then exit the vehicle in the rear on either side. To sum it up, it SOUNDS really NICE!!!

The automatic transmission for 2005 is a new and improved 5 speed. With a lower first gear than previous transmissions, this makes it great for acceleration performance.

Also added leather interior with power seats
1995 Bumber and grill
Full floater rear axle with e-locker.
Front HP e-locker
factory e-locker switch and ECU.

There are still a few cleanup items from the swap, but they are rather minor. I have been driving the vehicle 50 miles a day for 2 months now with several 200+miles trips. I have hauled cars around with it on a large flatbed trailer and it has no problem pulling the hills.

I have been able to get 17.5 MPG with combined highway city. That is 4-5MPG better than the stock 4.0L I6.

It passed safety and emissions no problem. Due to the lack of EGR valve(vvti replaces EGR) I had to go to the state emission inspectors who will most definitely critisize anything that is questionable. They gave thumbs up on the swap and passeded with very low emissions.

I have done countless conversions such as this so I can tell you that this is good quality work, but as said earlier, there are a few small things left to finish up which don't really effect how it runs/drives, I just want to make sure it is reliable for long term and I have other projects that need working on as well and I just want to get the word out for potential buyers. I have about 15-20 hours or so of cleanup work to make it complete.

Please feel free to give me a call for a test drive. I am in Orem 5 days a week with very flexible times I can meet.

too bad about the CARB number; CA SMOG referee would have a fit about those.

Bump for a _sweet_ truck and a killer deal.

From what research I have done, it really won't matter especially since it is a 1991 vehicle, and they are identical to the JBA headers that are CARB. So for california kinda of a grey area, but I am sure it wouldn't be a problem.

I put a 3.0 turbo I6 with custom exhaust in an 89 4runner that had a 2.4L 4cyl a few years back for a guy in Cali. He had to have the state inspect it, but it passed no problems.

This is definitely a shot in the dark coming from left field but you wouldnt be interested in a 98 VW GTI VR6 Turbo would you ? putting down 491 to the wheels. Total sleeper and fun as hell to drive. Gets 22-25mpg highway !

NYC, great setup, but if I was doing a trade, it would need to be about a 50% split between cash and trade.

I am interested. When were you thinking about Ebaying it? I am trying to shake loose of one car and get cash together over the next two to three weeks. This would be perfect for me as I love the 80 series, but need (slightly) better mileage and a bit more engine for highway driving. Can you PM me some more deatils fo the 5 speed swap? Also, what ends need to be tied up? I would love a manual 80!

I even like the color.

I have seen this rig in action both on and off road and it is one BAD A ride! I wish I had the money!

SuperRunner has done tons of swaps. This one looks very clean. Good luck on the sale!

Got cruise control working, using the factory buttons, and the 2UZ ECU.

Going to be putting on ebay today.

Also a few pics of the exhaust. I have since cleaned up the rust and painted the downpipes. Also some of the welds look like crap because I ran out of gas on my tig and had to mig with flux wire...bleh!

any issues without radiator over flow cannister. thanks

Well, normally it is there, but I removed it to secure the wiring and the A/C lines a few days ago and didn't get it back on yet.

TTT

2 days left on the auction. Wanted to get this sold by the end of the year, but I also understand it is crunch time for a lot of people. If it doesn't sell on e-bay, I will just hold out for a bit longer. Price on this WILL NOT come down. I will sell my wifes care before I would lower the price.

I want this rig, but am short on cash... I am working on it!

Do you still have the cloth seats?
