It's a big open area and lay year there was tons of spots as that weekend we were the only organized group there.

You only need to call the park if you want to put your name on a RV spot. Camp sites are, as Paul described, a HUGE open area. And if I understood Mark correctly, he has added to the RV sites and camping area. There will be plenty of room.
