This is basically what @AirheadNut is doing right? I'd wait to see how his rig works out and then make a call from there. It is a significant amount of work fitting one of these into our trucks. I think for a daily driver it could be a rocking little setup though.

Personally I'm still not sold on such a small displacement motor in a big vehicle if you were to work it hard towing through mountains regularly however. Even if it does make a lot of power, can it make that power all day long and still last a long time? I think the 6 cylinder TDI's from VW and Mercedes (~3.0l displacement) are a much better match in that case. The sort of thing they put in the Tiguan or the ML320/GL320. Even the Toyota 1KD-FTE.

But everyone has different needs with their rigs.

Yep, that’s the same engine I’m putting in mine. If I could ever get my transmission sorted I’d have it on the road... hopefully in a month or less. Mine has a stage 3 tune on it right now, so only 135hp and 240tq, but that should be plenty. The larger VNT17 turbo I’ve put on should allow for future power increases if that should become necessary.

Well I’ll be a monkeys uncle, I thought VW made the Jetta motor. Well I guess my lack of knowledge is showing again. Guess the giggles are on me.
