Jan, that looks EXACTLY like what I have. Do you have a wire pin out on that so we can compare. It looks like the part number you have is about as easy to read as the one I have.

The wires on the one I have, starting with the yellow on you can see clearly in your picture are as follows:
Yellow, Green/Black stripe, Red/Black stripe, White/Black stripe/brown dash, Yellow/Black stripe/brown dash, Black/Yellow stripe brown dash the first four are "medium gauge" wire, the last three are light gauge that is it for that row.

Next row is as follows:
blank, black heavy gauge, Blue/black stripe, gap for latch, blank, Black/white stripe, blank the last two wires are light gauge.

Let me know if that is the same as yours. No guarantee that this relay works.

That looks right. The number is 28590-56090.
There is a thread here with good pictures.

cheers,
Jan

We looked up plugs for a non-super glow HJ-60 and got 8.5v plugs. Are 8.5v plugs for 24volt super glow then?

With all these glow plug options, it's getting difficult to find the right parts. Thanks for ALL the help guys.

Leni

What you need to do is activate the glow, and measure your voltage at the bar that connects the glow plugs. Then get plugs for that voltage.

I used the 8.5 plugs on my HJ60, and they kept burning out yearly. Then I measure the voltage and it is 11.5. The 11.5 plugs don't burn out, and she starts perfectly at all temperatures.

cheers,
Jan

Leni, if you think this relay might be helpful let me know and I can get it sent down. See if the other parts are also available. Of the numbers that you can faintly see, it could be the numbers you've quoted :).

The 8.5 volt rated glow plugs are for use with a glow controller set up, which the 60 series did not employ in any market or model. The 2H engine was also used in the HJ47, and for the year and a half before they went to using Superglow on the 47 series, the plugs were 8.5 volt - and a glow controller is used. That's the set up I have in my truck right now (and I wouldn't trade it for any other system).

The 60 series used a glow indicator light and a glow timer module, not a glow controller. For a 12v battery truck, the correct plugs (non superglow) are 10.5 volt. For a 12v battery w. Superglow set up, the plugs are 6 volt. For a 24v volt truck with Superglow, the correct plugs would be around 14v. Non Superglow 24 volt truck would have plugs rated around 23v. IIRC.

Yep, all of my Canadian spec HJ60's have 14v glow plugs.
