I have found what seems to be a good deal on a rebuilt 2F out of a 70's 40. Would that motor be a good replacement for the worn out 2F in my 84 60? Where there any changes to the block?

You don't want it.

Look for another FJ60 motor. That way you get to keep the powersteering and AC.

X2...any 2F 79+ should work......bewary of "rebuilt", without receipts, and hearing it run and a compression test and or leak down test.

You should be able to pick up a decent , complete engine anywhere $250-500. but then when you swap it out, you add alot, new belts, hoses, clutch and related.

The a/c is no problem being the compressor bolts to the motor mount, all that is needed is to swap out the crank pulley. There are other alternatives to p/s mounting other than having bolt holes in the block as well, plus a sag. pump is more desirable among some crowds ;)
