2F oiling system improvements?

Those passages look tiny to me, coming from the world of BMW racing...

There are a lot of tight spots, sharp corners, small primary (pre- main- gallery)
passages in there.

I know there was at least one thread a while back about beefing it up,
but I can't find it now.

Are there any 'tight spots' that need opening up, or are the stock passages
adequate for an engine that's going to be towing for hours?

The main gist was that you can actually add another oil line to the other side of the motor. That an open up the passages on the crank to the bearings. Other than that, there is not much to be done. I beat the tar out of my 2F and have not done any oiling improvements.

Exactly what are you planning on towing at 55 mph?
 
Hmm, the crank passages looked ok, it's the oilways out of the pump that looked small.
But yeah, no- one seems to have horror stories about oiling.

It's a 1987 BMW 325 that I race.

And before this turns into a trailer thread, I currently tow with a gen1 Montero, so it's not like it's
really going to get any WORSE!

Extrude Hone?
Reducing cavitation is a worthy goal, even if you can not easily measure any improvement. Air is a terrible lubricant. How far to go in the quest is only limited by your patience/anality.
 
Oh, come on, the Montero has a 3 liter van engine that weighs less than the 2F crank. How can that be worse???
But it does move right along at 75 on level ground. And occasionally lifts a head...

1st, of all the 2F is not a racing engine. More a tractor.

2nd, after decades of production and operation of several hundred thousands of miles on an engine I think it is resonable to assume that the engineering of all things oil and flow is sufficient...

Which likes a bit of chamfering on the mains to keep the rod bearings happy.

But has bigger oiling ports than a 2F throughout.
