When I finally 'caught threads' on that bolt it was pretty much the 'second best feeling EVER'.......
 
I did drop the down pipe once, and it made it easier. Just remove the bracket that's attached to the bellhousing, or around there, and it'll drop down. But those bolts are prolly rusted to hell, so that might open new issues. Helps to have a second set of hands to pull down on the down pipe, if it's still all attached.

Sure you can reuse the bolts, nuts. Prolly 99 percent do. Just clean 'em up and use some good, hi-temp anti-seize and drop the torque values about 15%. The stud kit works, I've used it, with the head on the engine... it just takes some finagling to get the manifold to fit. And it also improves your cuss vocabulary, too!

Having this same problem. two questions: 1.) what do you mean by drop torque values 15%? for the bolts vs studs or what?

2.) do you guys do 1 manifold at a time or what? My eyelets historically aren't lines up. no chance at getting it on the manifold. here's an old photo from my first attempt. I suppose I could cut one of the remflex's in half and it might line up a bit better, but things are a bit crooked. Maybe the machinest can carve a larger halfmoon out of the alumnium intake eyelets, orbad idea?

When anti-seize grease is applied to any fastener’s threads, the designated tightening torque should be reduced by about 15% to account for the reduced friction.

All the 2F manifold assemblies have bolt/stud holes that are a bit out of center. So long as the bolt or stud fits through — you’re good.

Don’t ever cut a manifold gasket. It’ll leak.

The most important metric for the manifold assembly is that both the intake and exhaust manifold when bolted up together (not on the cylinder head) are perfectly flat on their mating surface that will contact the head. That’s the most important thing.

If the bolt/stud holes are so mismatched that the bolt/stud can fit through it, then a bit of ‘fixing that issue ‘ is in order.

If using antiseize on fasteners, reduce torque values by 10-15% for reasons OSS sez.

Take a round-file to the mounting holes that are badly misaligned.
