I'm thinking of cutting mine off and getting those! Well, if I get everything else worked out then maybe. I like them, very nice.

I can assure everybody that Jim makes a beefy slider!

Here's a pic of his sliders saving my rockers in Moab.

My 62 is a stocker so protection is valued, they got a bit scraped up but no damage whatsoever.

Thanks again Jim!

chris(red cruiser) that pic is funny... it looks like a homeless guy is chasing you down for a quarter and your trying to get away. LOL

would these also function as a step like running boards? People keep complaining about how hard it is to get in my car although it's not even lifted.

also would these protrude out to the sides enough to offer protection against door dings?

okay so i finished painting and then i installed them

first step is to put mounting brackets and bolts on the backside of the frame and put the slider on jackstands. i started on the drivers side and got slowed down installing when i realized the exhaust shield was in the way of installing. i took a piece of wood and a hammer and tapped the shield up towards the truck and out of the way. this was only an issue on the drivers side obviously.

i have a flowmaster 40 series in place of the stocker and due to this i had to install one bolt backwards

a jack was useful when putting the bolts through the actual slider

i tightened down the bolts using a 3/4 inch socket and wrench

these mounts are super sturdy. i dont think im going to weld the sliders to the frame. already beefy enough

anyway so passenger side you have to deal with fuel lines and brake lines and whatnot. pretty easy. just unbolt the bolt holding the lines on and then begin sliding the mounts on. no exhaust shield to deal with this time

skip ahead after bolting the sliders on. use the supplied nylon spacers and longer bolts to bolt the lines back on and you are good to go. Not all mounts could be reused but the lines were bolted down in as many places possible. probably 6 mounts instead of 8. everything feels fine down there.

sorta. they stick out enough to maybe help you if you are reaching something on the roof but i dont think they are really a step. these things seem to be pure protection and i think they will do their job very well

a couple of things. the package came with 25 washers not 12. The hardware is grade eight. and i went ahead and painted the mounting plates.

I love these sliders! They are solid solid solid. Installing was a little more difficult than expected but no big deal. 2bad used every bit of space possible and everything fits nice and tight just as it should.

I wish i could really test these bad boys out sooner but i am extremely busy with two jobs and everything else i have going on. I will be going to tellico next month and gultches probably in july or early august. there really isnt much for wheelin in South Carolina but thats why i live in Montana the rest of the year and will be moving there in august for good.

Only suggestion, cut a piece of tubing just under the thickness of the frame and sleeve the bolts. It will help keep the plated from distorting..
