I had them on my FJ and they were great. The best tire for the the price by far. Once my stock Michelins are done, I'm getting another set of Hankooks.

A friend of mine has them on a disel ford his are studded he hates them in the snow, that said I think they look like a great tire Current price from discount tire is $174 each.

Any feedback on the noise and handling for the 295's??

I've had them on for 5-6 months now. Initially they were relatively quiet, about like an aggressive AT (I was running NTG prior to these). Then I rotated them, and the noise escalated.

I do not find it objectionable by any means and consider them on par with other MT's.

I am very pleased with the handling, they've surprised me onroad in the rain. They stick quite well and as John has mentioned, no hydroplaning - they are very predictable. It is easy to get a sense for and predict their loss of lateral traction, which for my 80 is far beyond how I drive.

When it's all dry pavement, they handle well for what they are - they track straight and don't wander, and I haven't lost lateral traction on my 2.5 ton lifted AWD SUV w/ no swaybars. :)

We don't get snow here to speak of, so no comment there.

IMHO these tires are a great choice considering the price, performance, and expected longevity for a DD and weekend wheeler. O yeah, they are very good offroad!

295-75-16 Hankook MT, bought them on 06/09 so far so good on my stock 95 DD Cruiser;)

curious to know where discount had them for $174, I just looked them up and they were $210 for 195s.

BROMO95, is that a stock suspension?? Looks good. Any rubbing? I need tires and want the 295's, but I can't get the OME medium lift till March. I am thinking the BFG AT's will be good, I do a lot of interstate driving.

I'm glad some folks are speaking up for these tires. I've got the Mt's on my FJ60 and the AT's on my 80. About two years hard driving on both and still holding up great. The Mt's have takin' a beating on these Ozark backroads, sharp scraggly ol rocks, snow, ice, pointy spear like cedar staubs in the woods and still running strong. When these wear out I'll be replacing them with the same.

Thanks TJ96TLC, thats stock suspension with 1" HD body lift from Roger Brown. Its cheap and easy to install, it also gave me enough clearance to run over the frame 2.5" exhaust system.

I use to run Geos AT+II allterrain and thought they were very good offroad, great traction with no problems minus some flats, well now i can go on deep sand in the same steep hills with out airing down at 45psi and still climb the hill, also I feel more confident driving on sharp rocks, so far i am very please with these tires.

Also expect to have more noise then your allterrain tires, there is no free ride here!

Man those are sweat looking tires! I was going to go with 285/75 because I knew I wouldn't be able to do the lift and tires at the same time. I think these will work perfect with or without the lift. Don't know which will come first but I think I'd be fine either way.

My friend did his tires first, after my suggestion and 3 weeks after he did his lift!

Buy the tires and you will be happy!

After several months I am still impressed with the look of these tires!

I will be making a snow run at night in Cloudcraft on the 24th i will report after.

I the fjcruisers forum they did a report and they did great on snow!

awesome.

So these tyres fit an 80 with stock suspension? I need to replace my Geos and was looking for something that handles the schnow a little better. Ride improvement would be a +.

One those running boards: Mine looked pretty much the same, little rust spots showing on the side. When I popped the top plastic piece off there was nothing but rust! I'm in the process of wire wheeling the boards now b'cause the wifey insists on having the running boars.
Maybe after I recover from the birf/brake/general maint/tyres job I'll think about other options.
