I am having my stock 200 lifted Oct.4 and the installer wants me to pick my tire size. If I order 295-70-18 and they don't fit, I am screwed. Not putting an Arb bumper on 'til Jan 2011 which would provide a bit more room. I could add a spacer but recall hearing negative things about it "I think". Anyone have experience with this tire size? Nitto Terra Grappler.

What about a 285/75/18 Toyo

That tire size is even larger. The 75vs70 might cause some serious rubbing issues with stock bumper and fenders. I wish they made a 285/70/18. Has anyone heard of issues when using a spacer to fit a larger tire to prevent rubbing?

Do you mean a lift spacer or a wheel spacer? I'd avoid wheel spacers, but that's just me. It's one more part that could fail in the middle of a ton of torque. As for lift spacers (packs), I'd avoid them as well as you never know what else you are going to effect, such as the steering column etc. You increase many angles when you do this.

I think the 295 will be too wide. When new my 275/70R18's rubbed on the inside mud flap. Now they are just fine.

Also, remember that you will have to change your suspension again with heavier springs when you get that front bumper with winch. I did mine all at once for this very reason.

Thanks, Great advice! I meant wheel spacers. I am going with 285/65-18.

when you switch out the tires when is it necessary to reprogram the computer to correct for the larger size
