Well yesterday i slapped on the above tires on my 100........

no lift (yet) and does not rub at all....

The guy at the tire store talked me into these over the BF's,his feelings were that the Toyo's are the best quality tire out there right behind Michelin's. The ride is definitely rougher b/c they are 8 ply tires compared to the tires that were on there before. I've noticed a couple of this - 1.stopping takes more pedal 2. going takes more gas...

I love the ride...i feel so much better in mall parking lots and at soccer fields...
the lift and front/rear bumper go on once i get back up north...

Has anyone used Toyos? What is your thoughts?

Toyo Convert

I'm running Toyos on my 2000 LC (6-ply) and Blazer (4-ply). I've got 25K miles on the Blazer w/ these tires (over 4 years, which tells you how much I drive the blazer), and the wear is very good. I've had many other AT and M+S brands (BFGs, GY Wrangler, Uniroyal, Big-O AT, Michelin LTX, Firestone:D) and I like the Toyos better than any of these. I think they are quieter than most other AT tires, they are fantastic in snow (my better half refused to drive the LC in snow with the LTXs on it, now she can't wait to plow through snow drifts at the mall), and they are beefy enough for the occasional off-road adventure.

I'm running stock size, so I can't comment on the inertia issues w/ 285s.

xabillion on how quite they are.....

If that shop said as all others do that Michelin's are top in quality, why settle for 2nd? - much less in price? Michelin makes the BFG, or Michelin is BFG. In any case, I hope the Toyo's work out for you. There are so many threads about buying tires, but not many on miles on the 100.

You're gonna lift and bumper it... :smokin:

I paid $135/tire for these installed.......my business buys all their tires from there so i get a good discount. I think they are around $165 to $185 on the net..

What amazed me was the size of this place......I walked through the warehouse looking at tires/tread and they had 5 warehouses of tires.....then he said "lets go to the basement and look at more"..

I would guess they had over 20,000 tires in there....

TTIUWP!!! :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

That hurts - $135 installed - double ouch. My pocket book is jealous. Great Deal Noah, I am sure you can not go wrong

How much impact has this size had on power. You said it takes more pedal to stop and more gas to go. Is it really noticable? I am thinking of moving to this size, but our 2000 is so underpowered as it is, I hate to loose much more.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Try adding a winch, bull bar, rear bumper, sliders and a roof rack... :hillbilly:

Thanks,

I would say it is not THAT noticeable, but from a stand still you need do need to push the pedal further down....
i love the feel of them......

you might look at a tire that is not 8 ply...
