So after a recent bit of research I have decided to run BFG KO2s in a C load range on my stock (for now) 200 series. These are going on some fresh Rock Warriors so I am excited. Anyway I was about to pull the trigger and I see that the Cs are offered in two speed ratings, Q and S.
per BFG Q is for “winter SUVs” and good for 99mph while the S is for “sedans and vans” and food for 112mph. I was told by my local tire shop that was the only difference, but I dig deeper and see the Qs are 51lbs and the S are 58lbs. In addition the Qs are rated at 50psi and the S 60psi. These S tires are sounding more like D load tires. Is it incorrect to assume the sidewall would be physically thicker to explain the 7lb difference?
oh the S are $10ish cheaper per wheel + $80 rebate. I don’t want the money to drive this. Am I over thinking? What other Cs are people running on their trucks?
