It's getting about time for some new grips on my 02 LX. I saw a fella on Instagram running 255 85 16 (pizza cutters) on stock rims. Is anyone else doing this? If so, what are your pros and cons? I'd love to see pics of them if you do!

I do know the 255's are a bit taller but over an inch narrower. That could be a cool look but would like to see it before I buy them and am not pleased!

Thanks!

I decided to try 255/85r16's. On stock wheels they accompany the Cruiser nicely.

Any rubbing?
I have not detected any. Being narrower than stock there is less of a chance of rubbing than with the typical wider than stock tire folks like to run. I do have a coil spacer in the back with re-indexed Tbars.

they look like Cooper ST MAXX

I used to run the Cooper Discoverer series 255/85/R16 on my 2008 FJ Cruiser. You should know that the Cooper tire in this size has a substantially narrower tire carcass than other manufacturers of this size. Their version of this size is more than an inch narrower than other brands... Basically a 255 does not equal a 255 in this case.
