Well it was an appropriately dreary day for this.........................:frown:

On the way Rob, the drivers liked it a lot better than the crappy Vette they had to unload. :) Happy Trails! :steer:

Stopping in the Bronx to pick up a Lotus, off to the Carolinas for some muscle cars, next stop sunny California.

Nice looking transport!

Now we need pics when she gets off the boat.

Congrats to both

Excellent... Thanks again Jim , I hope there wasn't tears as one of the children left the homestead. She is going to be well looked after and hopefuly see a few trails.

I'll keep this thread running until we have her here.

Cheers Rob

A great time from an Aussie perspective - I got a little worried through the process as the Aussie dollar dropped back a little and my budget was going out the window. We are used to it sitting around the 0.61c to the USD but at now nearly 0.93 and still going up everything is rosie.

Cheers Dobster

Not a bad time for shopping in the USA ;)
You bought it near all time high AUD vis USD
means your currency is 30% stronger than last year :D
AUD/USD + Börsenkurse + Devisen + FAZ-Finance

..... and have fun with this nice FJ25

The 25 has arrived CA. They have promised me pic so will put them up when I get them. A couple of weeks in CA, 72 hours with customs and then on to a boat all going well.

Cheers Dobster

Waiting for a container

Here she sits in CA wating for a container - hopefully next week. The shippers thought the front sticker was pretty funny.

Cowards. Ha Ha! I am getting new, stainless brake lines, however.

That's funny, my wife has a thing about leaving stickers on vehicles that we sell, she wanted me to take them all off. I thought I'd let you choose if you wanted any of the Americana left on it. ;)

Happy to have them on - along with the originality of vehicles I like the journey's they have taken in their life. I think over time once I am driving around they may end up being replaced - but I'll probably leave the Disc Brakes on.

Cheers Rob

In the Container

We have movement.

Although she is still in CA we are now in a container and has been picked up by the actual company that looks after the ship part of the journey.

so I believe 72 hours on the dock and then 6 weeks to Melbourne at least another week on the docks here. I'll put together a little run down on what I went through to enable the 25 to come to Australia in the next wek or so.

A couple more pics

A couple more as she went into the container.

Worries me how they get out of the vehicle once driven in :hhmm:

I don't believe he gets out until it's unloaded at your end. They just find some one who not in a hurry and wants to go cheap. Load the back up with food and he is set. Probably need a t least a week of air out after.

Or probably just have to be real skinny to get the job. The cruiser is pretty skinny compared to most vehicles, on those they probably crawl out the window. Your window was unzipped :hhmm:

:D I was going to suggest to the truck drivers to just take off the door, much easier. Glad to see it moving again!:)

I had the same idea. But I would only wanted that to happen if you had removed them and secured them inside. Other wise I would be afraid they would MIA at the other end.

After seeing your first post in this thread I hope you able to buy some new pants.
